I thought it would have been bigger considering you're from koala-land. That tiny bugger looked like a regular ol' house-spider.

Dat description Surprised
It's time to seal all the pavements, fissures and windows with silicone, drill a hole in the wall for the air, and cover it up with transpiring metallic net fabric to be sure that no lethal beast can get through :<
A spider-free Fallout shelter!

I live in the countryside, so I've had my own share of sneaky beasts too roaming either in the corridor or even in my bedroom, though they're harmless ones Razz (sort of)

A scorpion? Surprised The fuck? Laughing

I have just come inside from spraying the entire house with some thick poisonous stuff, which is supposed to keep them away for 12 months. Still not keen to let my feet touch the tiles again though

Haha yeah, there are so many of them, especially in the garage, one always has to be careful when turning on the lights. Thankfully it should be the so called 'Euscorpius flavicaudis' (a common Euro scorpion)

It is a mildly venomous, harmless scorpion, which will rarely use its stinger. The sting is like a bee sting to humans

Fellow aussie here, fuck yes looks like black widow or a white-dot, house spider lmao. The big ones are harmless (although i scream like a bitch if I encounter one). It's these sneaky asshole milk bottle cap sized ones that really mess you up.

If its a white dot, although that would be a big one (I've seen them that big) they have been known to cause Necrotising arachnidism (feel free to google how nasty that shit is).

I actually did that research before moving. My brain went suddenly: "Dude, you are going to move country/region... you don't know what is out there and can't rely on past experience". Laughing

It's sensible I think, my waifu's sister went to work in New Zealand this year and gave her the advice to actually check up on what to look out for. Most people do it with insurances, medcare,... so why not for flora and fauna. Razz

There's these larger spider things too, apparently they're fairly harmless however, exists in various parts of the world too.
https://www.firstaidbrisbane.com.au/blog/huntsman-spider
(Might cause panic which can then lead to harmful situations but besides that they seem pretty harmless.)

We don't really have much of dangerous or poisonous animals around here in Sweden though, (Unless I'm completely clueless it's mainly some type of snake.) and the usual crap like piss ants (Whatever their actual name might be.) wasps or ticks but not much else really.

What wild animal life there is tends to be pretty shy and stays away though well incidents do happen because for example someone wanted to get close for a picture and ended up in-between say a elk and her calf and got trampled.

Though there's little chance of seeing anything bigger than a fly around here I suppose since it's a both a more urban city area and the neighbors being mainly cat people, 6+ cats keeps most insects and rodents away though the ones that are caught might end up outside your door occasionally as little gruesome trophies just so you know who's in charge around here, cats do that sort of thing for various reasons. Razz
(Birds, mice, bigger rats but also squirrels and small hares occasionally.)

Absolutely no idea if a common house cat would fare well against the more "unique" Australian wild life though. Very Happy

Think I saw in some documentary some years ago about some rodent rat like creatures swarming some place due to I forgot exactly what type of phenomena caused it, water related I think? - Pretty sure there's a similar thing but with frogs in was it some place in Europe? - that would probably require a bit more than just a couple of cats to keep in check. Razz

EDIT: Something like this.
