I don't think it was Marvel specifically but I remember these "vs" games having some truly impressive sprite art and background details when they were in 2D.

I used to be really into SF2, SF3: Third Strike, Mortal Kombat, (old) Killer Instinct, etc.
Then Smash Bros. came along and they just nailed everything, imo. I REALLY appreciate their special move approach, where everyone has the same inputs to perform their special attacks and regular attacks.
When I try to go back to Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat bullshit nowadays I'm just really turned off.
its still only a widely spread myth that you can play tekken without learning stuff (i.e. doing only button mashing), might be true for homorang and eddy/christy. every other char you need to learn atleast ~10 combos/attacks. though its pretty much useless to learn the 10hit combos, there are more effective ways to do damage
Pre-order the Standard Edition and receive the Warrior Thor and Evil Ryu Premium Costumes.
Pre-order the Deluxe Edition, which includes the main game, 2017 Character Pass and Warrior Thor, Evil Ryu, Gladiator Hulk and Command Mission X Premium Costumes!
Pre-Order the Collector's Edition to get four detailed statues, LED-fueled Infinity Stone replicas and the Deluxe Edition content!
I feel like the inputs for special moves are arbitrary bullshit that make no sense.
It's all part of the challenge and creating a gap between the skilled and the not.
By your logic we should streamline everything down to hitting one button.
Capcom has announced character downloadable content plans for Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite.
In addition to the previously announced Sigma and Black Panther, the remaining four downloadable characters due out in 2017 are Monster Hunter, Winter Soldier, Black Widow, and Venom.
The “2017 Character Pass” is included with the Deluxe Edition of Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, which costs $89.99 versus the standard edition’s $59.99.
Signature/Avatar nuking: none (can be changed in your profile)
