Finally played through the campaign this past week. And yes it is quite amazing. Some really cool moments and the use of the games mechanics were well implemented. Would be awesome to see more from these guys on the campaign front

After an hour of Titanfall 2, I realized I like Both aspects of the game, fast paced infantry combat and mech combat, but separately.

Pilot vs. Pilot and Last Titan Standing are fun, Attrition and the other combined arms modes aren't, because they turn into a titan fuckfest.

Oh, and for a game with an emphasis on movement, there sure is a lot of camping.

Stutters like shit, no matter what settings I use.

This game is almost great, if it wasn't for some very odd game mechanics.

Matchmaking takes 504 years between matches, which is not fun in any way.

Titans suck, as they appear to be made from paper mache.

And in the games I've played, people are either dumb as fuck, or just unbelievably irritating. Example. On at least 4 occasions in a CTF game, the guy with the enemy flag took it back to base.. but didnt' actually put the flag down - he just ran around until he was shot. This happened with multiple people on my team. Either I misunderstood the game (which I didn,t because I am not thick) or this takes idiocy to a whole new level.

Eitherway, I can't see me dropping money on this. Performance is fine for me btw.

bob is in anger mode every day.

mp is very good, matches are very intense and when theres many titans deployed its like michaels bay transformer movies.

60fps if you enable adaptive resolution and dont care about a lowered internal resolution.
most modes are dead and thats why it takes long to find a match, i only play attrition and its very fast 10sec between matches.

still no buy unless you want to play in short bursts like 30min. its not a game like siege or battlefield where you can easily play over 1h at a time.

Damn, I'm really good at multiplayer. It's true that experience is all that matters. The longer I've been playing, the better I've gotten. Consistently in the top 3 all weekend.

Then I read it was a Free To Play weekend.

Oh.

i already got to level 25 in the weekend with mostly things unlocked

last night after every match there was a guy in the chat room who played the harmonica for over 1 hour...people forgot to play the game and just remained in the menu.

+Solid gunplay and movement mechanics.
+Weapons, for the most part, are balanced and fun to use.

-Titans don't feel durable.
-Most maps I played were very open and didn't lend themselves to rapid movement by freerunning, but did lend themselves to camping, which I encountered a lot of(there were guys camping cloaked in the bushes Laughing ).
-All kinds of built-in hacks, like two types of wallhack(sonar and map hack), and the smart pistol, that's no longer a side-arm, but a card that replaces your side-arm.

This is a con for me because I'm tired of this shit in games these days.

I'd buy T2 for $15 max, and play it occasionally, but it's not a game I can sink hundreds of hours into or find appealing as a competitive game.

This free weekend was a camping fest. You could spot the new players from a mile, all camping near doors or on the roofs cloaked and static. Very Happy It's true that the map design isn't what it used to be and it does support camping more in the detriment of mobility, but those who know how to play won't camp.

Goddamnit I bought this game - it's just so damn fun. And I have to say, the singleplayer campaign is a hugely pleasant surprise - totally superb.

What is wrong with me - actually liking games this month??

The gameplay I feel (in Bounty Hunter/Attrition/cap points) is very random. Everybody runs everywhere like spider-men and it is often by chance who kills who.

Its fun when you're in the zone getting those 50/50 duel kills, not so fun when you lose them, so the game goes really hot and cold in that regard. The graphics are okay, light and functional, its not an ugly game.

I've tried using the one-shot sniper and a full auto secondary pistol. I use the radar sweep action ability and the ninja star thing that melts people. It is very tailored for smgs, tiny cluttered maps for most part, not so much sniping, but I do get the occasional kill. Nice getting the kill on an ejected pilot high up the air with the sniper. I did it twice, but felt very lucky/random each time.

I didn't like COD:IW all that much, so I can't 100% put my finger on why I like TitanFall 2. It's odd.

Haha, it's not odd, the same happened to me too Very Happy

Can't speak for the multiplayer since it isn't my cup of tea, but the single player portion here absolutely demolishes Infinite Warfare. Played through the doodly first (because I had to, for the sake of completeness), and never ever felt a moment that gave me a 'oh, this is interesting' reaction. It just felt stale, in the most typical deja-vu-ish way that characterizes the franchise. A monotone journey to reach the next script.

Titanfall 2 on the other hand, despite actually sharing many issues from that world, as well as the derp AI and pea shooting, genuinely tries to do something refreshing for once, breaking the canons of this extremely limited sub-genre with inspired level design (which is something unknown in Call of Duty).

Well I personally can even tolerate cod campaigns myself. doesn't stop me for bashing the series' sappy story moments that go for the dramatic but end up utterly comical, and it's MP derpyness Smile

Hell, I even played MP in some of them, but just like BF series, I got tired of the same formula repeated in every title.

I am intrigued by titanfall2 though, and plan on pushing it into my backlog soon, as it's nice to occasionally throw in a short campaign shooter, and the hump seems to love it, even those that tend to abhor the modern triple A traits in games.
