The fact that the developers hinted at a future mobile port some time ago sounded like a virtual nail in the coffin already. The gameplay videos and recent news only confirm the bad feelings unfortunately
It's like when Hollywood reboots the old classics, it's never going to end well.

Good stuff so far. Have played as Psilons for a bit. Too bad about not having turn based battles but the style and design, voice acting and animations are top notch. Easily a better game than galactic civilizations III.

We have the bear race, the cat race, lizard race and now there's a ant race too.
There's also blue smurfs, emo humans and the Geth.
(Apparently there was some much requested all-female species too in a earlier installment, not sure what the two upcoming races will be but maybe those and some other animal race, fish-like perhaps as there's nothing aquatic like in the game yet. )
EDIT: Game itself is fun though, still early alpha and thus a bit rough but I've enjoyed what little I've played so far before getting my empire utterly annihilated by hostile antromorphic races.
(I know bending a animal upright and giving it a voice is popular but some more variety would be nice too sometime.)

Wargaming's Master of Orion reboot will launch out of Early Access on August 25. Since it hit Steam in February the studio has issued regular updates to the in-progress title, but the game will finally be feature complete by the end of this month.
You can technically buy the game now and play it while it's still in Early Access, but only if you fork out $49.99 for the Collector's Edition. That features "a detailed digital art book, the three original Master of Orion games, a full orchestral soundtrack by the origial Master of Orion composer, retro pixel ships skins, and an exclusive new race for Collector’s Edition holders". The latter goes by the name of Terran Khanate.
Meanwhile, the standard edition will go on sale from August 25 for $29.99. All purchases will receive Total Annihilation, the 1997 RTS, free of charge.
Played it a bit and it's good remaster of classic MOO2 biggies problem i have is micromanagement. I have same problem in MOO2 You have research new factory now you need to build this factory on 20 production planets... manually... it's good game if you like micromanagement... Combat feels weird but i don't know why.
It's like Master of Orion 2 with better interface graphic and worse combat.
I remember when it was released, I could just speed click through the game and beat it, almost without effort lol. And I don't remember ever having played Moo before ...
New enemies, alliances, and betrayals are ready to sweep the galaxy in the first story expansion DLC for Master of Orion: Revenge of Antares. Cross paths with the Elarians who are never one to back down from fight; call on the aid of the Gnolams to recruit lady luck to your side; and unleash the full force of your empire to defeat the warmongering Trilarians.
With new stories to experience and more starlanes to conquest than ever, the future of the galaxy is in your hands/claw/prehensile tail.
