Should one even bother with this game? Can't remember hearing good things about it after it was released.

This was my game of the year for 2015 by an absolute mile. Yes the story is completely weird and doesn't make a blind bit of sense unless you have immersed yourself in MGS lore, but the game design and playability is streets ahead of other games of this type.

It's a weak MGS because of the story, it's not a weak game.

And this is said by someone who has MGS1 and MGS3 on "the best games ever" list. |
And thats exactly why, you had completely different expectations, same as me.
Though I still admit that the gameplay is superb, the game is fun and has shitload of content.
It's a good game, but not a good MGS game, especially disappointing since it's the last real MGS game that will ever exist.

I really, really loved all the cut scenes, voice acting and music in this game. And absolutely adored the prologue. But after that that game was fucked, filled with filler and terrible (also not needed) open world.
Story is also a mess and the game is just not finished

Btw this is why the endresult turned out like this:
Quote: | "I haven't talked much about that, but it was such a difficult time because he was going through a lot last year," Keighley says. He was shocked when he found out – just days before the show – that Konami wasn't going to allow Kojima to attend, and he felt he had to say something, despite the company being a sponsor. "The fact that he finished that game under those circumstances is just amazing. He was locked in a separate room on a different floor than his development team for the final six months of development. He couldn't even talk to them – he had to talk through someone else. That's how that game was finished." |

Game is shallow AF, there is not enough missions to unlock majority of weapons and stuff, and who in the hell designed motherbase? From one base to another driving with crappy slow car is insane, i almost feel like game was made for pranking people. In last MGS game there was a ton of missions on one map, this here is ridicoulus.

How far into the game are you? It only gets worse.

Got the game on PS3 now. Gamestop had: buy 2 PS3 games and get one free. I've been wanting to play Beyond Two Souls for a while now and the misses wanted LBP 3... After 20 mins of trying to find another game I got fed up and just took this one as the third game.
Probably will just collect dust, downloaded the PC version few days ago so if I ever get to it I'll play that one.
