Can someone explain to me in super layman's language what is downsampeling, what is considered low or most taxing and how to use it to gain more performance or better image quality along with resolution?
this setting has started to become common in games and i still dont get what it means...
Downsampling -> Using a higher resolution rendered as a lower one. For example, 4k downsampled to 1080p gives you better visuals than standard 1080p. It's using an internally generated resolution and fits it to your set monitor or set resolution (in this case, the common 1920x1080) Of course, this happens at the cost of performance. The method discussed in here is probably downsampling sub 1080p.

Now, how do i understand what the setting means?
I mean, if the settings say 100% than does that mean that the resolution i set (i always play on 1080p) is the resolution rendered and no downsampeling is used while setting downsampeling to 50% means im rendering the game at twice the resolution and the game downsamples it to 1080p and my performance will be much worse?
So downsampeling settings turned to lower than 100 is better IQ and worse FPS?
Well I searched the thread twice and still none the wiser as to what this mythical "Kwik" is, could some kind soul take pity on me and share the enlightenment please?
If I thought the first one was enjoyable but worth 6/10 at most, is this worth it for me? Is it more of the same, or did they actually improve most things?

The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.
What I'm liking about this one is that it gives you more freedom and simply throws you in a world with multiple activities around you. It does diminishes the story aspect of the game, but I'm not sure people really want to see the story of Watch Dogs 2 that much.
They instead focused purely on making it fun, in making a GTA-clone where you can explore the world, collect bonuses, do various missions, and be rewarded for it. It's mindless fun. As someone who didn't expect a masterpiece narrative, I appreciate that the game offers more content from the get-go compared to the previous one.
If they give us performance improvements (unlikely) and maybe the DX12 renderer that they promised 9 months ago (somewhat likely, Division tested it), things could get slightly better.

Driving is.... not good not bad.

The main issue I have with the multiplayer component is that whenever it happens, it ends up attracting the cops because of the fighting going on (regardless of PvP or CoOp) and it ruins the mission.
I've had one encounter end normally (someone trying to hack me), the rest is chaos and running away from cops.
Someone went inside a clothing store to kill me, I realized this very late but still managed to place two stun gun shots on the guy and they dropped. Got fucked hard, then later on I hacked some guy whose name I remembered from reddit who had gotten a press copy, couldn't find me and I was like 3-4 metres away, fun stuff.
But yeah, it's not always helpful as the situations often come up before missions you wanted to start, some of those invasions are very badly timed so I just turn them off if I really don't want it to be there.
