Mission 4 will be entering adermille institute and 5 will be executing x 6th will be leaving adermille, 7th watching credits?

If someone really wants to play it in this state, I can share my account. Even though i'm gonna wait myself, from what little i played, you can see the art part of gaming this genre is known for, is there.

it's the only way I can share, since my family share quota is in a time out Laughing

http://www.pcgamer.com/why-dishonored-2-is-running-so-poorly/

Still amounts to about a 55% performance gain for Nvidia GPU's for turning everything off and 45% for AMD though individually only view distance and shadow quality have a noticeable performance impact across both GPU's and then individually it's AA for Nvidia and textures for AMD although that's likely due to the Fury GPU reaching it's VRAM limit.
(Speaking of the Fury due to improvements to certain parts of the 480 that GPU should see less of a performance impact from view distance though it might see a increased performance hit from other settings in turn having weaker overall performance than the Fury.)

And yeah HBAO+ for Nvidia (For some reason it's only available on Nvidia GPU models unless forced on via config file editing.) but that's already known to be very demanding. (Pretty good though but not exactly cheap in terms of cost.)

Tbh I've never seen it utilized fully. It was always sitting at 3500+MB. Generally when I'm "out of VRAM" it sits at 3850+3900MB + there is an an abnormal RAM usage, so it's kinda strange that texture quality has a noticeable performance hit on fury. I wish they tested rx 480 8GB too.

So does this show it is literally the console version, with Nvidia 'goodness' tacked on to make it a 'PC game'?

Yeah most games set the limit a bit below as to reserve a bit of VRAM as required (Or it might be in use by OS tasks or stuff like the browser if that's in the background.) but if it needs more it starts swapping with system RAM which affects performance and stuttering.

Even at 1920x1080 if you are using ultra texture quality it can reach 6 GB VRAM usage assuming the GPU in question has that, otherwise it starts swapping.

I'm seeing almost full 4gb vram used on my 970.

Anyways, couldn't resist, and had to play through the first mission. opted for the very high preset+hbao+ 40 fps at worst, constant 60 at indoors.

Getting around 45ish on the streets of Karnaca.

took me 2 hours and 45 min for the first mission. glorious garrett voice over + stealth exploration in the gorgeous setting, is just good enough to deal with the sub 60 fps. Very Happy

Could you elaborate on how to do that? Can't find anything related to AO in the cfg file so some line probably needs to be added manually, but I can't seem to find any info on what it should be.

Oh and I forgot to mention, after level 1, the game allows you to refuse the powers.

so thief purists can rejoice, you can play it without superpowers without having to just ignore them.

Well it runs o-kay for me. (im on mission 4) 60 fps most of the time. 45-50 on karmaca docks (only at certain spots) and the huge open room in the institute. But even in those places its playable.

Yep, for the minimum experience (aka console one), getting 30fps on lowest settings is just fine.

And @Drowning_witch:
Is the game really looking like in the video for you?
Everything looks so low res, and the black color seems rather crushed too.

I'm getting strange artifacts"

It happens only in this game. Any other game even very demanding, benchmark or whatever runs fine. I tried reducing memory\core clock, tried increasing voltage, it didn't help. It happens only at specific places and when I look in certain directions. . I don't think it's my card\vram.

When I enable TXAA white stuff disappears and only these red\blue dots remain.

PS I;ve made some tests and it looks like

1) Lens flare enabled causes reb\blue.. dots

2) Bloom enabled causes white marks

Mafia 3 doesn't even run at 30 fps for me, it's a lagfest, meanwhile this one manages to get 30+ Laughing

Getting a crash on startup (using an r9 290). Can't even get into the game as it quits before displaying anything. Are there any solutions for this or am I stuck waiting for the patch.

Very Happy yeah, the first few times when I mouse looked a scene and saw a red dot in the corner of the eye, I also though my OC magically became unstable. it made me remember the red dots in witcher 1 from the toxicity effect that also fooled many of us Laughing

@Drowning_witch

It's just that it's really aggressively done in this game. In certain areas it simply hurts my eyes.

These white flashes are the most irritating. Interestingly enough they are completely removed if TXAA enabled.
