Hey guys, so does this game have any singleplayer content or are there plans for it to have? I'm worried that despite having good reviews there's so little people playing it, even now that it's free for 2 days. Plus it's supposed to be 50 v 50, so I guess that would make it harder to have full games with a small active player base.

No plans for singleplayer, the community will stay alive as Project Reality community was alive for a long time. There are servers rented by clans and all that stuff. Plus, when it's going to be moddable, a lot more players will play this.

People with 0.x hours playtime, bitching about crashes that are easy to fix and not even contacting support or just trolling. This is un-avoidable sadly... Steam review system is kind of broken for free weekends Smile

Other than that I would love to hear from you guys, what do You guys think about the game? Smile

Also tonight we have another big big charity stream with surprises! All for StackUp (helping war veterans and soldiers get over PTSD and other problems)

There might be an issue with your browser (steam settings might filter out your servers) there is a topic on that. We reached 5800 players playing at one point last night which beat DayZ and Insurgency in playercount.

https://steamdb.info/app/393380/graphs/

If you look here, theres 5k players playing RIGHT NOW Smile

Meh, you can tell many people try this game and don't know how to use their voice or something. Most squads I come across just play the game like CoD, didn't used to be this way lol. Rolling Eyes

So.. played around 3 hours today..

i am not sure about this game.. at least not right now. I play a lot of arma and this game lacks somethings for me.

Scopes/ability to choose your weapon/accessories
Levels of crouch/prone
ability to zoom a little bit while holding the aim sight button

and i didn't like the heal system.. you get shot, bandage yourself and you don't have any penalty with it? (like in arma your sight gets a lot of movement, you get tired more easily)

Maybe somethings i said are in-game but i couldn't find it.

Probably gonna wait a little bit more before buying it

I played it too for a couple of hours before dinner, me likey. Razz Will most definitely buy it in the next months.
Didn't take me long to get accustomed to the mechanics (I used to play Project Reality a lot in the past, when I had more free time - and also love me some ArmA, although in SP only), it just feels good to experience a slower, more realistic approach again, with all the AAA "military" superhero shooters around. I agree with MannyK's suggestions, perhaps a little more "depth" when it comes to the basic shooting/micro-management could be a welcome addition in the future (It's clearly rough and the lighting/animations need work, but for an alpha it's coming along really nicely).
I had the most fun when playing alone (Rambo lone wolf_mode is my asocial style xD), infiltrating the enemy lines by crawling through the vegetation (the map with all the fields) and surprising four people from behind in the canals Fuck Yeah
..only to being run over by an APC shortly after. I regret nothing!

Fun game, good community, needs lots of polish, and a vaulting feature. But overall seems very promising, hope to see it becoming the PR we deserve.

And the glitches are hilarious Very Happy

I guess you checked your resolution to match the screen you are using, and tried alt tab back and forth to settle the render size. It is a bit funny at times and usually fiddling around a bit sorts anything like that out.

Why am I getting terrible fps? I didn't have fraps running, but it had to be around 10 fps.

I tried all settings, it didn't matter. I even ran it at 720p with everything set to low, didn't make a difference.

i5 4670k 4.4Ghz
16GB RAM
R9 290 Tri-X

Running the latest version of Windows 10.

"I think Call of Duty resonates because it's believable and relatable," Sledgehammer Games cofounder Michael Condrey says.

Believable and relatable...Yep, sounds like Call of Duty

@ MannyK

You can do the extra zoom while looking though scopes just like you can in ARMA, you just need to look through scope and hold shift instead of the right mouse click in ARMA.

I played for about 5 minutes before I worked this out while everyone else in my squad said you cannot do it.

But only with scopes right?
When you have aim sight you can't?

Admittedly I've only tried with scopes as it was the only gun I had and only played for about 30 mins.

But it seems worthy of a buy so I've bought it (can't complain for 50% off)

For me it runs at 15-20 fps no matter low medium high ultra, I blame it on my old CPU. The awful performance is a deal breaker for me sadly, as I think the gameplay is great. But seeing your report, maybe there's hope it can be further optimized?

I have slowdowns also on anything above medium, though still in the 'playable' range fortunately (i5 2500k, basically the minimum requirements). I don't believe they're justified though, considering the visuals, but that's another story..and well, there's the it's alpha(tm) xD

But indeed, let's hope they can squeeze and tame that UE4 in the future without turning it into a military Ark, the destroyer of framerates. Razz

I knock on wood, man. If Bohemia managed to optimize DayZ for my jurassic abbacus I'm sure the Squad developers can do it with a much better engine Very Happy

Mixed feelings on this one. It's worth playing but is probably going to suffer like most squad based multiplayer games do.
I probably won't buy it. It doesn't have SP content or bots, the player base will either be dead or not interested in cooperating within a month or two (just like BF2 and Planetside), and I already own Arma.

Not worth speaking on the interface, tking and team-balance issues.

You can zoom further using the shift key? fucks sake, would be nice if critical stuff was made known during gameplay.

If you look at the key bindings layout that is displayed while loading the game it clearly labels what the shift key does.

As for Coop/Team Killing, I see none of that. The player base for the servers I play on is really very 'hard core' and really stay true to the idea of the game.

I joined a squad called privates and it was just a guy being squad leader and showing new players how to play while going through what objectives we are trying to do.

I'm not typically one to talk much over voice and at the start it made me laugh a little at how hard core they were but once I got into it I couldn't help but join them.

I've bought a copy for my second PC, for the $20 entry price, if if I play it with my mates for a few hours (I'm sure I'll do more) it better price than a movie
