As for the game itself it was one of the more varied campaigns and especially for a Battlefield game (Not that they've had that many yet.) with Visceral trying something new almost every level even if it gets a bit ridiculous after a while with one crazy scenario after another though it does attempt to be a bit of a b-grade cop action movie so it kinda fits at least for most of the game.
(And then to complete fiction such as the gun crazed hillbilly who absolutely is not a racist and tries to make that abundantly clear just so you know heh.)
Also has the best 3d modeled hamburger in gaming (So far.) and they also tried to implement some little secrets in multiplayer. (Reporting the status of a donut box for example and of course the "hidden" reload animations, of course a 1/1000 chance isn't much with thousands of players so most of them were found quickly, quite a few videos of both those and stuff like the donuts due to that.)
Didn't really set any sales record and multiplayer well Battlefield without err Battlefield wasn't super popular and I don't think the DLC's helped either further fracturing the player community so I'm pretty sure the developers were laid off, unfortunate but that's how it is and of course EA couldn't just have attempted a new franchise or anything oh no. (So there goes Dead Space and some other licenses until they find a new victim err developer for them.)
Little bit off-topic...
Spoiler:
Speaking of that I guess we're soon about to find out how it went for the developers behind Titanfall, going by reviews they did almost everything right with fun solo and multi player plus the game runs well and the PC version has pretty good support too but someone (Thanks EA.) decided to squeeze it in right in the middle of Battlefield 1 (That's a problem.) and Call of Duty Infinite Warfare and Modern Warfare Remaster (That's a big problem.) which kinda killed all hope of breaking any sales records, should have launched it a bit before Battlefield 1 and it might have stood some chance but right in the middle? Sucks for them and it's not really their fault either...
EDIT: And yeah the ending (Endings? I think there was only one? I'll have to check.) was a bit of a twist too. (Bit vague but don't want to spoil anything for those who haven't played through the game themselves yet or watched a playthrough of it.)
