No I meant when is he supposed to do that? Say, I family shared my library, he launched steam in online mode and installed dishonored. What's next? Does he launch the game first and then close steam, then block it and restart (offline?) or what ?

from what I understand, he simply needs to run the game once to get denuvo validated. then he blocks steam in firewall while in steam online mode. after a minute or so it should allow him to play dishonored even if you are in game.

Edit: Sorry. Dishonored 1. Embarassed Sad

Dishonored 2:

5/5 - http://attackofthefanboy.com/reviews/dishonored-2-review/

Quote:
Trumping the first in nearly every way, Dishonored 2 is at the very top of the list of "must play" first-person action games in 2016. Causing bloody chaos or sticking to the shadows, Arkane gives players the tools to run wild in this new world. This brand of gameplay combined with a beautiful presentation and plenty of customization leads to fun playthroughs of Dishonored 2 whether its your first time or your fifth.

9/10 - http://thisgengaming.com/2016/11/09/dishonored-2-review-ps4-2/

Quote:
Dishonored 2 is a fantastic entry to the series, and made me an even bigger fan of the extremely talented Arkane Studios who developed both games in this amazing series. If you were a fan of Dishonored, then you are going to be a big fan of Dishonored 2 as well.

The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.

How can they rate it this high when the game has severe technical problems?

1) Lenovo Legion 7 (AMD Ryzen 7 5800H, RTX 3080 16Gb, 32Gb DDR4, SSD 1TB +2TB

2) SFFPC (streaming via Moonlight+ Sunshine)

Here's a tweet from that Arkane dude Harvey Smith https://twitter.com/Harvey1966/status/796724472267030528

Holy fuck, the performance is abysmal. As soon as I went outside from the tower it started chugging MASSIVELY, I thought it was the usual "wait till the level loads in" bullshit and it will stop, but nope. I'm on an SSD too (Samsung 850 EVO)

Nope, not max. Set to auto, it seems to be between very high and high. The location is just after getting out of the tower, I just climbed down a couple of pipes. I turned the game off for now so I don't know if the performance improves after leaving it on for a while, but again- I got the game on a fucking SSD, it shouldn't cache/load in a level for more than a couple of seconds.

Expecting smoothness with a 1070 at the end of 2016 is foolishness. It's a four month old card ffs, time to upgrade.

yeah, was gonna say, 20 fps there for a 1070, sounds low, i had 41 fps there on max settings with a 970.

but yeah, crap engine. the kill animations are particularly jarring. like they insert a prerendered clip for 1 second and then it's back to real time.

I'm basically on the verge of a refund, but will give them a 2 week window, just before refund expires.

Fuck me man, one of my favorite titles for GOTY this year and it comes out in this deplorable state. I'm so lucky I didn't have the money yet to buy it. I will probably wait till the Winter Sale when I might get it for 15-20% cheaper (on top of my small "regional discount").

its a pitty no game uses unreal engine anymore, last gen was full of them and they were very optimised, now every studio has an engine of their own. bad performance is here to stay, keep buying them 700e videocards.

Can you actually refund if you share minions eat up more than 2 hours gameplay? Very Happy

Oh what a surprise, another hyped up AAA game disappoints me. Embarassed

- Game looks pretty much like the first game from 2012. Yet it runs like shit compared to the first game.
- Even on highest mouse settings the camera still moves rather slow.
- Absolutely terrible lip synching and overall rather bad looking animations on the level of some indie game.

+ Only good things so far is the Thief-like gameplay,
+ and the voice of the Emily

Meh, will wait for some more patches before i play more.

depends on many factors, but yeah, it's doable. they all play firewalled anyways. it doesn't matter much, i'll play it anyway at some point, but i'd like to refund it just cause they put it out in this state.

http://www.guru3d.com/articles-pages/dishonored-2-pc-graphics-performance-benchmark-review,1.html

Guru 3d are not finding the performance as bad as others here have said. 70 FPS on 1070 @1080p ultra with TXAA 1x turned on, which rapes performance in all games I played.

Not saying its perfect but its no where near as bad as Mafia 3 and the new deus eX was at launch.
