Well, if you want proper WH40K lore, then go read a book, ffs.
From what I've seen, gameplay's just not right.
But let us return to this topic a week or two after the game's released.

What? A game on the WH40K doesn´t need proper lore, thats only for the books?
well, r3dshitf I allready got some of the books, including some omnibuses, but i still would prefer my game with some heavy respect for the lore as it helps the immersion, thanks.
If the gameplay doesnt deliver thats another factor (and the most important one in every game) from the sum of the whole package.
Just note, i could have replyed: If you want rocketjump gameplay go play quake, you dont do that in Terminator armour... But i was polite, kinda..

Looks a lot like the experience you get from Killing Floor 2 or the Vermintide game.

Absolutely not! You don't have to always be online.
There is a real solo campaign taking place in 9 levels. You play with 2 NPC teammates with a good AI (not simple bots). You can give them a dozen of different orders in order to employ the best tactics to crush your enemies. There is also hacking of some in-game elements. During the exploration of the Space Hulk, you can rediscover old and forgotten relics.
So it is playable in coop, but solo is not the coop campaign with bots taking place of players. The gameplay is actually quite different between solo and cooperative and focus has been made on the story. |

This definitely sounds better on paper. As per usual I'm only interested in the lone wolf experience, so a story/progression/meaningful purpose and decent AI are a must for me. If the game will turn out to be merely yet another L4D-like wannabeast, then I'll be a sad panda

Just found out someone was making this game as a mod for L4D back in 2011. He shut his project down because GW apparently saw it and made a clone of it.
http://www.moddb.com/mods/deathwing
sucks. His new game looks fun though, basically pod racer <3
But.....fuck November can't come soon enough.

FAQ - 9/8
Hi all.
I am from Streum On Studio to answer and update the FAQ gently created by users
I found some mistakes, changes not being documented anywhere. Sorry for the annoyance. The game release has just be announced and the game lacks currentely a centralized page with informations. To help people better understanding the game. Please find below what should be updated in the current FAQ.
What I didn't quote is right, what I quoted is modified with correct information.
Originalmente postado por Randy Marsh:
-The game features 9 ships within the space hulk.
Actually there are 7 ships and 9 chapters (Aka levels).
Originalmente postado por Randy Marsh:
-each ship will take roughly 1:30 hours to navigate
Each chapter is around 45 minutes to 1:30 hours
Originalmente postado por Randy Marsh:
-single player is lore and story focused with story objectives and cutscenes.
No cutscenes, you stay in your avatar to get a more immersive game, but you can get some visions. Visions are most of the time not playable and warns you about danger or special situations.
Originalmente postado por Randy Marsh:
-each class has progression to unlock gear, abilities and possibly visual customisation.
Visual customization can be unlocked for solo character during the missions. But there are currently no visual customisation in multi.
Originalmente postado por Randy Marsh:
-4-5 players in a coop game
up to 4 players.
Originalmente postado por Randy Marsh:
-you cannot pick four librarians.
We have made some changes about that. So you can now choose 4 Librarians to let players play as they want to. But it makes more sense to have variety to gain benefit from each classes in a team
Originalmente postado por Randy Marsh:
-it possibly has other objectives and confirmed has no cutscenes and campaign's plot.
As you might not be a librarian and not librarian characters should not have vision. Vision system is not available in coop. Some other points have been removed from solo and other added to multi. To make the game as interesting in solo than in coop.
Originalmente postado por Randy Marsh:
-12 Weapons;
In solo: 14 weapons + The pre-order Lost mace (15)
In multi depending on your class and your XP
Originalmente postado por Randy Marsh:
-Plans for full PVP and new maps post release.
Actually there was some misunderstandings. François might have spoken too quickly. We have spoken a lot about a possible PVP in the future. But nothing has been stated and we currenlty prefer to focus on a good coop and solo gameplay.
Originalmente postado por Randy Marsh:
There used to be five skill trees, then four, and now three. Whether that represents a change in all skills or a specialization against each class is to be seen.
We go from 5 to 3 skill trees. Because now melee and distance weapons are not tied to a skill tree but are unlocked during the game. Representing new equipment arrivals to the established bridgehead on the Space Hulk.
Originalmente postado por Randy Marsh:
Also at the time of some of the last major interviews there were three AI companions but apparently there are only two now.
Conversely the number of classes has increased from the three confirmed (Apothocary, Deathwatch, and Librarian) to an apparent five.
Gameplay works better with 2 NPC in solo, there are more specialized and it is more fluid to control them during action.
For multi it is more interesting to give more choices to players.
Originalmente postado por Randy Marsh:
There will be different gamemodes including a "hardcore" mode
-http://www.pcgamesn.com/space-hulk-deathwing/space-hulk-deathwing-transforms-the-tabletop-experience-into-a-savage-first-person-shooter-but-keeps-the-spirit-intact
Ouch! Should understand several difficulties. Gamemodes are only solo and coop. Many other things are in our minds. But the only stated things are solo and coop gameplay!
Originalmente postado por Randy Marsh:
GameWatcher: Finally, will the game be updated regularly after its release? What do players have in store for the future?
Francois Detemmerman: Yes, after we release the game we plan to keep updating it. For example, after a year we plan to release a full PvP multiplayer mode, along with a lot of new maps.
Already commented before^^
To be short. many things are planned for the future, but at this time nothing is officially stated.

Yea I have a sneaky feeling the performance of this will be crap, as in Ubisoft bad. But thank god for a beta, the lack of information was really worrying, hopefully we'll learn a lot more of the game through the beta.
Or they could have just do an uncut 20min demo, but whatever.

+1 on the probably shit performance.
It's even visible in the above video several times when many enemies at once attack.
Rest of the gameplay looks alright for one playthrough in a casual way.

I doubt preorder beta time counts toward the refund time, but I'll keep it under 2hrs anyway, testing on a GTX970 and GTX1080 |
Yup I pre-order as well, going to be doing the same.
