Yeah, America is the one of the rare that works through all eras. English and Russian are as good, while Greece with Seikilo is superior. I still prefer six minutes one from civ 5 over all four here, but it's all down from there as the rest are more or less generic. Same tune through different instruments, no evolution whatsoever, and quite repetitive to be honest. At most they have a good track and bad ones, like Brazil, Spain and China (all ancient era), at worst they are forgettable.

Rome's tracks are rubbish, I'd rather have the Civ IV style era-specific music than civ-specific ones.

I personally liked Rome tracks (not all of them), especially the one from the information era, cyberypunk-ish feel to it Very Happy

I'm playing as Pericles now and the tracks are somewhat all over the place. I mean I even got some slow western music during the industrial era as if I was playing RDR or Call of Juarez :\

This can sound stupid indeed.
But just look at the last 375.57 nVidia's drivers which made Win10 mail app crash, and other sillyness. (fixed in 375.63 btw)
I even filled a bug report to MS about this Sad

Well, bland it is not by any means, unless you consider pretty much every previous Civ game bland, but the difficulty level certainly will need balance, those eurekas are seriously OP, playing a new campaign on King and I got to the Nuclear era before 1800 and got like 10 techs in advance of anyone else, worst thing is I'm actually going for culture victory.

EDIT: Correction, 19 tech advantage over the closest competitor Laughing

I'm not sure how it's on other speeds, but in epic/marathon it's crazy. Me and comps are just rushing through time periods. Research is on speed, while production is seriously hindered. I'm going around with classical units, some of AIs are still with chariots, while we're all in Renaissance on brink of Industrial Era in 1350! Cities are invulnerable. I had to call off my attack on three city civ, because I couldn't make a dent on city defenders that already had musketeers. My backlog in city building is absolutely huge, and I've just decided that It's better for me to completely skip producing medieval units (produced one knight, upgraded too one crossbowman), skip renaissance units and just go with industrial ones, when they come around. Shouldn't take more that 30 turns, and I'm not even going heavy on research ether...

Yeah I've also noticed a slight hindrance in production in both campaigns (I play standard speed btw) but it hasn't been too bad for me, maybe that needs some rebalance on slower speeds. Anyway, the eurekas need a serious tweak as even not trying to get them you still get many and the boosts are overkill.

So Catherine declared a surprise war on me and as I destroyed 20% of her stupid army she begged for mercy and wanted peace. So I said OK. Now when I look at the victory progression, I can see that she has built up a huge army again. Can that bitch hold a grudge against me only to try to fuck me over a second time?

You want to place the industrial area's in a 6 tile radius of your other cities. If you can combine 3+ cities this way your production will sky rocket.

Early rush is just crazy effective.... As the early cities cannot bombard anymore. You can take out several computers withing first 100-200 turns by rushing archery and just having 2 warriors + 2 archers.

I played Aztecs with the powerful 28 base power eagle warriors and took out germany, france, china and.... something in the very beginning. (Played only on Prince Razz ) But I hate such tactics, I always rather just live peacefully, in Civ 6 that has been just made 'impossible' I'm always dowed if I try to just concentrate in living peacefully with my neighbors, even the very smiley face relation civs attack me just suddenly.

Gandhi? That's how you spell it?

Always thought it was Ghandi
(Or Ghandhi)

EDIT: Yeah it actually is but it seems nobody is spelling it that way, at least on Steam but then again the Steam community...

EDIT: Ah that's why.
https://www.quora.com/Spelling-Why-do-so-many-people-misspell-Gandhis-name-as-Ghandi
(Didn't Shake-spear have that issue too? Or was it Shakes-pear? Razz )
(Actually I think I remember reading he had like three different ways to write his name so you know it's bad when the person himself don't know the correct spelling of it.)

EDIT: Interesting that it's British as well, had thought it would be more of a American origin issue.
(Since their whole "No-u" with the English language in general and other simplifications...)

Ghandi is just an english-speaker invention since they keep thinking it's spelled like (they) pronounce it. And if you misspell Gandhi, he'll nuke you.

In my current game he's in a continent with the most civs, I've been supporting him and keeping him alive - can't wait to see what he does once we get to atomic era. Proxy wars are sweet. Cool Face

Yeah, also you don't get any warmongerer penalty.. so Japan started to expand rapidly and bullied Buenos Aires next to me... So I declared war took his 4 cities Smile Then Catherine declared a surprise war on me (and also wanted to take over Buenos Aires!). Btw, Buenos Aires did not appreciate me rescuing them and even at the brink of destruction their only quest for me was to build a Swordsman. Really? Laughing Next step: Destroy France and check out why everybody and their dog wants to takeover Buenos Aires (and decide if I should invade them instead Cool Face)

I also find the game very unbalanced. The first 50-100 turns I get constantly bothered by barbarians, they seem to have mounted units very early on. After I get my shit together, I really feel forced to invest heavily in warrior etc., it gets very easy. After the start progress becomes too fast (or the other civs get too slow) and I feel too powerful. It's funny that barbs are more of a threat than the other civs.
Even if the price was reasonable, I wouldn't buy this in this state.

I don't have much experience with 6 yet, but in 5 peace meant shit. some asshole declares war -> I destroy a few cities -> asshole begs for mercy -> peace -> dipshit declares war again after a few turns. It was driving me nuts Mad

It's pathetic that Civ4 remains the best Civ to date. Way more meaningful non-cosmetic choices, non-retarded diplomacy, AI that can actually take cities... And it's not even that much visually outdated, I'm still enjoying playing it over Civ5/6
