He looks like he just had lemons.
"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

Probably not your average hedgehog or what their English name was again (Porcupine?) but anyways I wouldn't be so sure about the dog as they do learn pretty quickly, one of uncle's hunting dogs had a tendency to kill them by pushing them over and ripping their non-protected belly region up.
(Pretty brutal I suppose but if the hedgehog enters the pen where the dog usually was well there's little chance of him being able to stop it especially as they tend to be nocturnal.)
EDIT: Well I suppose the opposite also holds true, my own dog stuck his nose into one of them (They're not that uncommon around here.) and well he won't be doing that any time soon. (Was thankfully just a scratch but he avoids them now.)
EDIT: And having compared yeah that above is probably something a bit different from the usual spiked rat we have here, claws and spikes (And nose.) are all far bigger on that animal above.
