Strange considering Civ 5 was quite dumbed down.

I wouldn´t pay for anything smaller than 20gb nowadays. Feels like I´m being robbed. Razz

Nah, tried isodemo shortly, not a friend of the new goofy style but definitely looks better in motion. Glad to read the first impressions are good. I just hope I have the time to try it properly :/.

Been having fun with it yesterday. I will definitely buy the complete version with all the dlc's and expansion packs when that is released in a year or two.

Same for me in the beginning, the game is definitely deeper than Civ 5 Smile and gives you more stuff to do between turns, which is great as it was frequent in the late game with Civ 5 that you could find yourself just hittng end turn repeatedly.

So its more like Civ4? I might pick this up then Smile

There must have been a door there in the wall, when I came in.

They seem to like attacking even with certain defeat rather than retreat, heal and coordinate attacks with other barb units, not necessarily a smart move that. Laughing

Barbarians never coordinate with other units, they've always been by themselves. I was referring to the fact they scout your location first and then they go back to their camp to raise a bigger party to attack you Wink

Yeah and tbh such coordination wouldn't make sense in the earliest eras anyway, since they're just supposed to represent the disorganized rabble and warbands. Would be a neat touch for later eras though, keep them relevant for a bit longer.

Well, I read in the official manual that it's possible (though not very likely) to see them manning tanks in the late game. That would certainly make me laugh when I see it, I guess it was possible in Civ5 too Razz

Also yes Barbarians are really impressive, don't think they will just stare at you without giving you some attention.
Also I won't let my cities without garrison anymore (like I used to in Civ5 ^^)

Finally I was one of those who laughed at the new Gfx style at first, but I must admit the game really shine and it just looks beautiful.

I'm really liking this game. I only have one gripe, the changed the way we can modify values. I was hoping to increase research cost and decrease production costs, but the type of game speed affects everything.

My specs:
Ryzen 5950x @ boosting 5ghz, Gigabyte x570 Aorus Master, 128gb G.Skill Trident Neo pc3600 ram, nVidia RTX 5080, SoundBlasterX G6, Samsung 980 Pro m.2 1TB and Hynix m.2 1TB storage SSD. Custom watercooling loop.

Any meaningful difference between the CDX and RLD releases? Can you play either via Tunngle or anything like that?

Edit: Guess it's this:

Proper note:

The CODEX release doesn't launch on certain systems and setups, where our
release and original game does. With our release there's also no error
message shown at menu about the Civilization VI account. Enjoy!

Yup, installed it today and booted it up for the benchmark and have to say: while we lose out on detail... it's looking nice. Everything blends well. Smile

I've been playing it, and yes, it's possibly the best Civ yet - maybe even better than 1 and 2 (IMO).

But... £50?? I'm sorry, but I think this is just too high. When did PC games suddenly get so expensive (I expect it from EA because they're robbing cunts)? I don't mind paying for a great game, but £50 makes me choke a little. Am I alone here?

No. It just a cunt move. In case of console games it was always license fees that made the price for a game higher. For PC it just greed.

It's a price I wouldn't pay that's for sure. It's more deserving of it than other titles that ask the same though. If it's as good as the other ones it would mean I'd play hundreds of hours.

Another argument I could make for it: it seems more content complete than the previous one. Maybe that was their train of thought: we offer more so we ask more.

Not saying I agree with it though.
Anywho, I was never a fan of spending more than 45€ on a game I want.

awesome game so far. My only gripe is how we don't get exclusive notifications (like that big red button on CIV V) about barbarians near your city and the notifications seems to be a little too crowded

But i am enjoying the new city building aspects, districts and tile management
