Did you back Star Citizen?
Nope.

How do you think Star Citizen will turn out?
It'll be very rough, may have something good deep down, but you'd have to go through tons of technical issues, bugs, performance issues, that sort of thingto get there. .

Some things being touted as amazing might end up mediocre and the like.

Anything else?
No.

Do you generally think it will succeed or not?
It's already succeeded beyond Robert's wildest dreams.

- Did you back Star Citizen?

Yes

- If you backed it, how much did you back it for, and what is the total you've given them to date?

Original backer - Pathfinder LTI. $40 (+$35 in credits).

- How do you think Star Citizen will turn out?

No idea. It's obviously too early to tell.

- Anything else?

I can wait for as long as it takes them to finish the product. Rather have that after a decade than an unfinished mess.

- Do you generally think it will succeed or not?

I think it will succeed among the hardcore audience. Mainstream? again, it's not guaranteed, too early to tell.

several LTI ships probably 350-400$ Subscriber? lolno

I think we might get an episode of Squadron 42 before it all explodes

Anything else?
I was suckered in because I loved Privateer and always regretted that Privateer Online never happened. Now the man himself is back to make it (in spirit)! Conveniently I forgot about how his last game turned out: overambitious and stuck in development hell until he sold out, left, and saw someone else take a hacksaw to the game to actually get it released.

Now he's in over his head, too much promised, not enough of a foundation to build it on. Putting the cart before the horse throwing money away on making (and remaking, and re remaking) assets, before there is a hint of gameplay to balance them around.

"muh immersion" means even if something does come out it isn't going to be fun. Space is big and boring. No one will want to play as Scotty and fix the ship if it comes under attack (some shit minigame that might work, but will probably just delay death) when they could be doing something useful like shooting back.

Erin might be able to shit out some Squadron 42 (singleplay, far more feasible) with some focused gameplay and not having to worry about serving drinks on a spaceliner or press X to science minigames.

I would have said it will all go under sooner or later but I continuously underestimate the willingness of people to pay for more pictures of spaceships, so maybe we get a PTU with a 3-5 systems eventually.

Stopped believing around the time of the 5 month Arena Commander delay, figured the infinitely greater complexity of the actual game would translate into commensurately greater delays. Haven't been wrong about that yet.
