Turning feels like stearing a boat. Especially when u play without crosshair. The graphics are nothing special. The 'missions' are just basic WoW style quests so far. The loot is awful, just a lot of clutter that serves no point. I barely even open the inventory anymore I just don't care. Playing on the hardest difficulty and it's a breeze.
I have probably outgrown games even though I love to play. I miss the days of Blood, Doom, Warcraft 2 etc. All games these days feel like a business instead of love. |
My thoughts exactly. And yet, I still play DooM 2 with Brutal DooM like once in a week at least. The only exception from all of the new games is Killing Floor 2, but I guess thats because of the unique weapon handling it has just like very TWI game. Every other game released these days is play for an hour or two or rarely beat it and completely forget.

Yep although i love borderlands, this feels very meh overall, no mood at all to explore all of the maps, dont think ill be finishing this one since probably you are kinda forced to do sidemissions too otherwise you will be underpowered. Range gameplay is fun but melee sucks

Yeah, going back to Mafia 3 for now. From what you guys are saying, this isn't my type of game. Shame because Shadow Warrior was a decent reboot.

So say i start a multiplayer lobby alone, 3 more ppl might join, should i set base dificulty to 4 players or to 1? They should explain these things, is the dificulty just a cap for 2 3 and 4 players, or say, if i set it to for, it will be based for 4 at the start when im alone?
I swear they dont explain the coop parts that matter the most, same for gears of war, theres so many options to play that game in coop and none is explained how it works.
Also does my progress save joining other ppls games? I rly want to keep my progress and just repeat parts i did with random ppl for fun at higher dificulties..

I don't think it is borderlandsy. At least when it comes to combat , movement.
Even loot is not that important but makes your life easier. Skills are handy but the first game had that too.
I didn't particularly like Borderlands although I played it in co-op. This one? It's more fun. A perfect game to play for an hour or two after work with friends
I don't see myself playing this game for long coz it gets kinda tiresome but short sessions? Yes please.
I do miss a bit more linear structure though.

huh? works fine here.

Yes and no. Sometimes the game looks pretty average. Sometimes (wind, trees, rain etc) it looks really great.
You should prolly replay them. I don't think they were better than this one.
@lolozaur
I'd say it's quite the opposite

Yeah, level design is the weakest part of this series. Thankfully gameplay overall and combat\movement are pretty good.

@h0rnyfavn
People play Doom all the fucking time. And the other old FPS games, like the Quake, Duke, Blood series.
Sure, they mostly use newer source ports and/or mods, but still. It isn't nostalgia, those games are FUN.

@VGAdeadcafe
Yeah, so? Good for them. Although if we compare the last Doom and the first.. Jeez.. the first is just a boring and primitive pewpewpew crap.
And imho quake and doom(original) were pretty bad Especially quake.Now that game was atrocious.Duke 3D was miles better despite using an outdated engine.(both released in 1996)
Blood was great indeed.(Thank God it wasn't ID that developed it)
Actually..most ID games were mediocre..great engines..mediocre games. with rare exceptions. ID Software - Crytek of its time. Doom 2016 was amazing though.
PS And this game is fun too.

! For those having issues with aiming as in "it feels like steering a boat" .. there's an option inside game and hud called "weapon inertia". Set that to 0.
Apparently the HDR implementation is amazing.

Because this game is in the core exactly like Borderlands, expect SW2 has different art style?

'We don’t believe in DRM, and we don’t like DRM,' two of the developers behind the new game Shadow Warrior 2 recently told Kotaku in an e-mail
Great attitude. But oh GOD.. I read the comments. My optic nerves now both have idiot-cancer.

And yeah, that "we think about everything, unlimited pre release feature list" failed, no option to disable that floating items thingy. There should be an option for this or they should've developped it the diablo way:
Toggle button to raise the items from the ground. (or smthg like that)

Loving SW2.. hits the mark based off the original 90s classic. Gfx look good and runs amazing! His running commentary throughout the game is priceless!

@Ampee
They never promised it though and perhaps it's not that easy to do once it's done.
It would be nice to have this option coz it looks kinda bad indeed but I think it would be difficult to notice items if they were made any other way. After all the camera is not like in diablo
PS
About a shitload of upgrade stuff we collect throughout the game.. I've just got to the demon world, our new base of operation, and we can combine all these useless(now) gems into more powerful ones. or sell them

Breezer_ wrote: | Okay, nice to know there is still devs who knows how to properly code their games. Fantastic experience, graphics are awesome, runs like a fucking dream at ultra without that MRS tech and 3440x1440 resolution (60fps all times vsynced, somehow VSYNC feels so god damn good in this engine??). Also 21:9 flawless support out of the box...
Game itself, miles better than the first one, that was very good aswell, but i felt like it was missing something (yes i have played original shadow warrior, and i played it when it was released, but reboot was nothing like it, tried hard tho). This is like gory version of Borderlands, and i like Borderlands .
If i need to whine something, its the next gen big guns syndrome, why FOV slider is not affecting to view model FOV (guns/hands take 50% of screen in modern games). |
Well that at least can be fixed easily, until they start locking down cvars I guess if they haven't already, only tested a few myself.

Haven't felt any repetitveness yet, did like 6 side missions and 1 main (or something.. 28% game progress atm)... Not really sure where it is.
Playing on the 3rd diff and just flying around in and out slicing up things with the advanced melee controls =
Environments are varied, same with the enemies and tha action is top notch. Also graphically it can look mindblowing at times, better than anything else i've played on PC so far. Yes in some cases it can be bland (certain interiors) but the rest of the time? Wow, just wow.
