Source games are like source mods and are ridiculously easy to make in comparison. I bet most of the effort on Titanfall 2 was the art/assets and single player campaign.

Moving to Frostbite would mean they have to make an actual game which would take away a lot of profit on development time/programmers.

Frostbite is only for the inhouse dev studios, Respawn isn't one. So that's the reason why the cannot use that engine.

I always love when people tout the phenomenal performance of a game - when playing on current gen $650 GPU's and processors. Kinda means nothing.

It doesn't look too bad, but unless the keys shows up for $40, ala Origin Mexico, no buy. EA wanted to gain $20 more by closing "loop holes", now they get $40 less. Good game, suits. Razz

Titanfall 2's New 1v1 Mode Is Accessible by Drinking Mountain Dew
Quote:
Respawn Entertainment announced some new information about Titanfall 2 today, including a brand-new Coliseum mode where players can go head-to-head in 1v1 matches.

You can see a very brief glimpse at the Coliseum mode at the end of the trailer above. On display are two robot-like characters duking it out on a map that resembles a sumo wrestling ring. The object is to vanquish your enemy in a best two-out-of-three competition. The winner gets what's called "Advocate Gifts," which will "primarily be rare Camos, Callsigns, and more."

Another element of Coliseum mode is that you need a Coliseum ticket to gain entry. Tickets are earned by playing multiplayer, but can also be obtained by buying specially marked Mountain Dew drinks or Doritos bags, or from Buffalo Wild Wings promotions.

The Mountain Dew and Doritos codes come with one Coliseum ticket. They also give you double XP and a chance to get Titan personalization items such as warpaint and camo, or even access to the Ronin Titan.

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2016-09-23-titanfall-2-multiplayer-mode-unlocked-by-eating-at-us-resturant

"Eat at US restaurant chain Buffalo Wild Wings and you'll get access to an exclusive Titanfall 2 multiplayer mode.

The mode will be unlocked immediately after you chow down on one of the chain's meals. You'll also get an exclusive Titan insignia."

They add it might be the same one unlocked by stuffing your maw with Mountain Dewrp.

Edit: It's the same mode.

"There's an official promotion with Mountain Dew and Doritos for this one-versus-one mode - with single-use access tickets given away in promotional packs."

Basically, if you want to keep playing the mode you need to keep stuffing your face. Laughing

It's not a joke it's pure business in glorious capitalism. Basically AAA games are getting same treatment what mainstream movies got for years so far. Maximize the sales with 'worthless' content regardless what it is. Smile

I dont understand the hate either. This is everything that Call of Duty was supposed to be. A lot of things done right like bigger maps, verticality, titans to replace stupid killstreaks, it just looks to be 10 times better than infinite crapfare

How long did the first one last, before being dead on PC?
How was the anticheat?
Will it run on dedicated servers?
