Indeed my man. Feels pretty advanced for the first release and I am very curious for the upcoming stuff for this pretty young game in terms of modding. DUST in FNV was cool too, so I like this a lot. The Metro vibe seems spot on.

For now you're probably better off playing its NV counterpart, Dust, and let the mod mature some more.

Well, guess I'm installing new vegas again then, this sounds very promising Very Happy
Any other mods out there like this? for NV or FO3?

Yep, that would be my suggestion as well. Perhaps not as hardcore as other similar attempts but definitely a must-have: along with Mart's Mutant Mod, Weapon mods, Enhanced Weather, and all the goodies improving the aesthetics/textures/interface like NMC, DarnUI, Fallout Reanimated and so on, it alters the game completely, making it challenging and ultimately enjoyable. (it was the only way for me to finish it back then Very Happy Laughing).

Dat Dust mod though Dude Surprised

I should finish Fallout 4 first Okay
Decided to delete my old 50h save and started a fresh playthrough with the survival mode some weeks ago, it was going well but all the silly quests, characters and "dialogues" as always are making it really damn hard. I wish I just could go on a rampage, Falling Down mode, with no regards for human interactions and embrace the sacred, satisfying Pew god like a Wasteland Doom.

Through and through with that one
Will probably try FOOK next time.

But should have been more specific: mods that overhaul the game, not just gameplay changes/additions. I know project brazil and fallout frontier but wasn't aware of DUST/FROST

Well... DUST really isn't for me Sad
Still lasted some 6-8 hours but in the end the very scarce resources just end up pushing the combat into VATS territory, and I never ever use VATS. FO4's better shooting mechanics may help FROST, I'll give it a try in a few months(years...?)

Eh, I find it hard but doable.
The problem is that in DUST every round counts, and if you use VATS (assuming you're risking >66% hit chance) almost every single one will land. Without VATS it's much harder Sad

Forgot to give PN's bullet time a go but I doubt it would had helped much... maybe next time.

^ This.

Using toy-like weapons (sound and handling wise) in those games is very off-putting.

I assume you mean FO3/NV only. FO1 & 2 had some ballsy weapons for sure.

The German Rheinmetall AG company created the ultimate minigun. The Vindicator throws over 90,000 caseless shells per minute down its six carbon-polymer barrels. As the pinnacle of Teutonic engineering skill, it is the ultimate hand-held weapon.

But yeah, DUST isn't for everyone - I just made a melee build to start out with, since the skill limits with guns are pretty punishing. Didn't have to worry about bullet conservation, but ofc that meant you had to pick your fights even more carefully.

The Bozar was pretty funny too, was meant as a sniper rifle but someone coded it as a fully automatic rifle instead though New Vegas saw it implemented properly post-release in the Gunrunner DLC.
(They also had that above minigun as a unique variant of the standard one though it wasn't as impressive looking and if you really wanted overkill you'd need Fallout Tactics and it's gauss rifle minigun..)

EDIT:
And then there's real life...

(As if the .500 revolver wasn't over-sized already here's a .950 rifle heh.)
(Speaking of the .500 revolver someone must have thought it was a bit small because there's a .600 too. - http://www.guns.com/2012/02/17/the-pfeifer-zeliska-the-revolver-in-600-nitro-express/ )

This has probably been asked before in the thread, and I apologize for bringing it up again.

I beat this game upon release, no DLC's, and no mods.

I'm "buying" it all again with the dlc's.

Which mods are essential. I might try the grass one where nature has taken everything over, but it is polished and does it drain resources heavily?

I can heartily recommend at least one, if you do any crafting/building whatsoever:

http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/18757/?

TLDR: Placing one of these beacons in a container sends a team of settlers to come pick up everything you put in that container and lug it all back to a workbench for you.

Ooh, I'm going to install this!

In survival mode, I'm constantly having to trek back to Sanctuary to offload loot.

@jackasshole Searching for "nexusmods" in this thread should give you bigger lists, some of mine with names are in there too. Looking through them yourself seems the best option if you want something specific.

Brilliant Surprised

... ended up reinstalling NV+DUST Poker Face
Added project nevada this time and I'm using bullet time instead of VATS, so far so good Smile

Frost is pretty shit at the moment. Still the best effort I've seen so far and tried. In terms of steering the game into a direction I'd personally prefer that is.

2011 - 2016 Build • Fractal Design R5 Titanium (Window) • i5-2500K @ 4,5GHz • Corsair Hydro h115i • ASRock Fatal1ty P67 Performance • 2x4Gb G.Skill Ripjaws F3-10666CL9-4GBRL • EVGA GeForce GTX 970 SSC ACX 2.0+ • Corsair RM550(W) PSU • 2x Samsung 850 Evo (120gb/500gb) •
2018 - x Build • Fractal Design Define R6 Gunmetal • Intel Core i9 9900K • Corsair H150i Pro RGB AIO • Asus ROG MAXIMUS XI HERO • 2x16Gb Corsair Dominator Platinum DDR4-3200 • EVGA GeForce GTX 970 SSC ACX 2.0+ • Corsair HX850i PSU • 1x Samsung 970 Evo M.2, 1x Samsung 860 Evo SATA, 1x Samsung 850 Evo SATA •

Yeah, like I already said earlier, you're better off with Dust for now - Dust was also like that in the beginning, and I imagine that Frost is an even more ambitious undertaking so it'll be a good while before it even reaches beta status.

I don't see the problem here tbh. There are custom made rifles with left side bolts for left handed snipers. I don't see the reason for such being in the game if the character is right handed but its not something unrealistic.

Are there any solid texture packs for this game? All I found was Vivid Fallout - Landscapes and I'm not even sure that one is done.

Heh well I guess it would have to be the one with the horn wouldn't it? Very Happy

As for landscape texture mods there was a pretty good one besides Vivid which I really liked but the author got pretty ill and didn't have time to work on it further and then something happened (I'm guessing it was comments.) and he deleted the entire mod page so it's no longer available.

As for other textures I've been using this:
http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/1897/?

And this:
http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/318/?

And then this:
http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/3747/?

And then on top of that there's the "Ojo Bueno" mods.
http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/users/1215280/?tb=mods&pUp=1

Vault suit retexture. (There's a ton of these.)
http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/17431/?

Power-armor frame retexture.
http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/8315/?
(Because you're going to see so much of that when covered in X-01 right? Razz )
(Or this: http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/4935/? )

Protectron retexture.
http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/15038/?

These textures for various containers, ammo boxes and some weapons and armor too.
http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/users/28713815/?tb=mods&pUp=1

Blood.
http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/212/?
(More of a game mod than straight retexture or well a bit of both actually.)

This for the laser rifle.
http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/2066/?
.
.
.
.
And this for, obvious reasons. (Hey Preston! Eff you!)
http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/17216/?

EDIT:
This replaces that unique machete that would break on hitting anything harder than butter.
http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/6960/?

Water, water (2) and weather. Razz

Thanks!
tho I really wish there was an all in one mod like Skyrim HD 2k. It wasnt perfect but there were a hell of alot of textures. It was a good starting point for someone that doesn't wanna spend hours hand picking textures. I guess I'll go through these and hope I don't screw my game up too much with other mods.
