35 devices world wide exploded or caught fire due to bad battery. so not a big problem, but such things should not happen

There may be a potential for many more. I am not sure what exactly the issue is, but at least Samsung is handling it well.

dunno, read it this morning somewhere else. they spoke about faulty batteries and not faulty chargers. so i assume the batts are bad, or lets say a very very low amount of them is bad but they ofc exchange all (i dont think they want to get sued in the us for even a little burning injury on a human -> that would be pricey even if its just a scratch Razz)

"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

Haha that was predictable - when the media is given a bone, it won't let go. From looking around, it seems those are very isolated cases but that won't stop the media from making a huge deal out of it.

I often experience a similar fear with my poor S4, when it gets incredibly hot for no rational reason despite me barely using it, though usually a restarting 'fixes' the issue. All bark and no b̶i̶t̶e̶ boom so far xD

I still have a S4 as well, shit thing.
Atm can't even access the phone numbers stored on the chip.
The only thing positive: my subscription is € 8 a month.

My S4 is still working perfectly, but I use Cyanogenmod and none of that Samsung Bloatware, so that makes a big difference.
I would never get S6 or S7 though, since the damn chip isnt compatible with CM.
Seeing how that trend is gonna continue, my next phone will have to be a non-Samsung one.
Once you use CM and get used to the customization, you can never go back to a stock Android system and especially not shitty iOS. Laughing

so WTF

yesterday my S5 updated to 6.0.1
and is no longer detecting my SD card
but if you open Storage, then go Home, it shows it, and when you explore it - it's empty
but for the rest of the phone - there is no SD card
and the SD card is a 64GB Class10 Samsung!!

WTF Mad

Seriously though, this is what happens when they try to push larger batteries in thinner and thinner devices. I think more amazing should be that these types of failures don't occur more often. And the fact that the design flaw has proven so elusive for Samsung, just shows how delicate and difficult designing these devices is.

It's a design issue in the battery controller.

They're trying to cut corners to increase profit margins and this is what you get ... . I love my Note 4 though - even after almost two years, its battery life is still excellent and it still feels very fast and snappy.
