Sabin, does it work completely on the mouse? Can you actually finish the game with the mouse only?

Yes, it's 100% mouse controlled. Just load the game, hit F5, and then use your mouse Smile

Nice, thanks. Did you change the option in-game where it says "one handed" or anything? I chose that, don't know if it makes a difference though.

I want to play this natively, does anyone know if I can just stuff a USB mouse into my ps2? or does the ps2 require something specific / doesn't work with backwards compatibility?

I left it as normal, dunno what the one-handed option is for.

Sadly I don't think that works.

What about the PSX mouse?

Justin Smith confirms that the PSX mouse works just fine when connected to
the PS2, for mouse-supported games like A-Train and Project: Horned Owl.

How about using a USB mouse to control PSX games that use the PSX mouse?
------------------------------------------------------------------------
MusashidenBlast@aol.com confirms that this doesn't work. Oh well, it was
worth a try. Smile

Great. I can start again bcause for some reason epsxe didn't create the memory card files correctly plus i cannot savestate in this game (for whatever reason but I haven't tried another game so maybe it's a problem with epsxe 1.70)

noope. It's only policenauts that won't let me savestate. wtf?
Where are the emulation guru's here when one needs them? ^^

Problem solved.

for people having similar problems.
Epsxe still won't save my game to the memory card though O.o

Sorry mate, really I am ... I should have mentioned; for some obscure reason, ePSXe won't allow savestates on Policenauts.

From what I found out; there's a trailing backslash in the game name - and the emulator/Windows can't write filenames with those. Linux does it fine.

Solution? Create a folder called S (or s, not sure if case specifics apply here) in your sstates folder Smile

=Edit=

Beat me to it Very Happy

As for saving to memcard? Mine works fine, so check to see if you've specified a card in the config -- and then check if it's not accidentally read-only.

Problem with the memory card is. epsxe doesn't even create the files.

Hm. I think I solved that problem as well. For some unknown reason the whole epsxe folder was marked read only O.o
Windows, what are you doing to me? ;_;
Time to switch to Linux I guess Very Happy

I've been thinking about switching for a whole long time now but I've got to much Windows dependent stuff.
Maybe I'll turn my Laptop into a Linux machine ^^

/offtopic

Although I have replay the prologue and the beginning of the first act. It's still an awesome game Very Happy

I have a weird problem, game just keeps crashing. I play some 15 munutes then emulator stops responding. Controlls don't work and I have to shut down epsxe and start again.

.edit. nm fixed by using different sound plugin

Yassssss Aww Yeah

Seriously sounds like a pretty cool version. I'll give it a try later.

This should be a good game to add to my arcade cabinet. IIRC Saturn emulation is pretty decent.
