I ended up downloading the smaller demo as well, to save time (a weird sensation..had completely forgotten that official demos existed!), definitely agree with you guys.

It's exactly how I imagined it, with a streamlined approach, passable if one needs something arcadish to pick up and play, but in terms of driving model, we're on an extremely basic level of complexity.
Even with the aids disabled/Pro and traction control off, the bike behaves as if it doesn't have any weight at all and precision doesn't really matter. MotoGP is not 100% simulative either, but at least requires attention, balance and proper throttle management if you want to finish the race without being a rolling Stoner. Razz I shall pass.

This is the problem with all arcade racing games. I love racing games but I cannot stand the simulation types. However, there are no decent arcade racing games anymore, the feeling of the cars / motorcycles is always completely off Mad Or they are on some stupid race tracks, which I don't like either.

Imo it's obvious that Milestone will follow step by step the "Codemasters DerpWay". I hope I'll be proved wrong.

Yup, Ride 2 is an improvement over the first Ride in terms of visuals and amount of polish, whilst keeping the semi-arcade driving model intact. If you're not looking for a simulation, the game can be entertaining for what it is. It's practically the Grand Turismo of motorbikes Razz, based on a career mode and a more gamey approach with a lot of panoramic tracks along with the GP ones.

Modders have recently tried to improve the wonky physics, don't know about the results though: http://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/real-challenge-physics-mod.13732/ Very Happy (I'll give it a shot one day)

There's old hardware like the Thrusmaster Freestyler Bike or the Yamaha MS1, but I'm not sure those are compatible with PCs. Those have been discontinued since a long time.
Then there's a new product which seems a lot closer to what driving an actual bike would be, but despite the high number of videos of people testing it, I can't find their official website and the only option to purchase their stuff seems to directly e-mail them ( seems like this stuff is made on purchase by a single guy ): https://www.youtube.com/c/IASystemsComputerControls . It seems legit though. Good luck ! Very Happy

Just played some isoRIDE 3 out of curiosity, as expected (and similarly to MotoGP 18 and MXGP3/Pro) the new engine hasn't quite brought substantial improvements handling-wise: the usual pseudo-arcadesim formula is still there with the inertia system which actually feels even lighter now and with the grip working against earthly gravity. Ride 2 was a small step into the right direction physics-wise (especially with the aforementioned mod), here it feels like going backwards again or at least towards the more arcade-y side of the road. Milestone gonna Milestone Cool Face

It's not a bad game though, one can tell that efforts were put into the whole package with higher production values. The presentation was improved (sort of, tracks still look like they're from two generations ago and the LOD is ridiculously low) and there's a sufficient amount of drivable models and locations as well (no dynamic weather though, only fixed sun/rain/night). Alas though, the problem for me is that when it comes to what really matters the poor motorbike inevitably shows all its naked side. Here's hoping modders will be able to find a way to tinker with the not-so-Unreal physics, although so far there's been no interest (can't blame them).

I just saw this on Steam. I won't buy it (there are 10 DLC packs? Laughing ), but brought enough curiosity to make me dLd the isodemo. It's the same team as MotoGP 19, which I found impossible to drive on a derppad Laughing but hopefully, this is more controllable.

I used to love Milestone bike games. Used to drive the old EA SBK games with an old Joystick. Not sure why I found that control method the most accurate. Laughing At some point, I tried driving the later games (07-09) with a wheel I had back then but it was awkward, so the Xbox 360 pad came handy.

Sadly, I've not been able to find any joy in motorcycle racing. Something in the magic got lost... Crying or Very sad Even stuff like Moto Racer 1 & 2 used to be a lot of fun with friends. But no doubt, the most fun I had in the early 2000s was with EA and Milestone's early SBK games.

Absolutely, Milestone's recent titles are more than decent but the classic SBK games really were on another level, especially SBK 2001. They pushed the boundaries both when it comes to physics and graphics (quite mindblowing for the time), then again, they were PC-only and didn't have to go through any compromises or gimping.

Ride 3 is generally more responsive than MotoGP 19 (commercial road motorcycles are more docile to tame and have less power), though the handling varies a lot from model to model with different classes and so on, like in Project Cars/Gran Turismo.

I played it and it's ... OK. Riding is manageable. Some motorcycles are better than others. Some tracks are easier than others. Damn that Daytona Speedway oval is difficult to ride properly! Laughing

Graphics are a mixed bag. The motorcycles are fairly well detailed and tracks in general look OK, but small details are terrible. The cardboard trees especially are egregious in their terribleness. World geometry detail is also low for the most part. Considering this and MotoGP 18-19 run 30 fps on all consoles (including PS4 Pro and Xbox One X Rolling Eyes ), I have to wonder what they are doing. They moved to Unreal Engine 4 a few years back, and I guess they are still learning how to master it? Or perhaps UE4 is not suitable for racing games? I know Assetto Corsa Competizione also switched to UE4, and while it looks better than these two games, I am yet to be convinced that it looks better than the original Assetto Corsa, and it took a heavy toll there: no modding support because Competizione derpeloper is too incompetent (or cynically unwilling) to develop modding support on UE4. Silly me thought that releasing UnrealEd.exe together with the game is enough. Laughing
