damn..this looks considerably better.. Does this particular preset have any performance hit?
PS I got banned by " a Quantum break developer" I do agree though. it wasn't a "constructive criticism"
Spoiler:
Maybe ~4fps.
But not sure. As i sometimes get difference FPS with the same settings, just by changing their setting back and forth.
Something is really wrong with my game. Even on most settings on medium i only get around the 45fps when running around.
Already have the latest Nvidia drivers.
That ban is somewhat justified though.
// Also how can you watch the TV show? I see no option for it.
Is there a way to skip the intro videos when you start the game?
Tried deleting the "startvideos..." files. But then i just get a black screen and still have to wait the same amount of time till the main menu pops up.
// Also what a piece of shit engine, seriously.
Is it possible to disable that fucking motion blur completely? As soon as i turn the FPS go from 60 to ~45.
// My god. Also NPCs have some slight ghosting behind them when they move.
And every time i turn the camera somewhat faster, it seems all the ingame lights go out for the moment.
Try -noblur
And yes, the objects are limited to FOV angle and disappear once they are out of sight even when you are just a a meter away from them. Try slowly moving camera near the object that casts occlusion shadows like wall display in the Accelerator room. Fucking ridiculous!
OK, finally found a balanced setting to get 60 frames on my GTX970 @1080p.
- Hit V-sync from nVidia's control panel
- Put Fullscreen mode to 'Borderless Full Screen'
- Disable in game V-Sync
- Switch Volumetric Lighting to 'Medium'
- Texture Resolution & Geometry Level of Detail to 'Ultra'
- Everything else on 'High'
- Upscaling 'ON'
Pretty satisfied with the results so far. The cutscenes 30fps cap is a nuisance, which tends to break the flow, but with this I'm at least able to achieve a stable frame rate so far.

Must be your CPU. This game eats my i7 for breakfast. My i7 2600k is clocked at 4.4Ghz and this game uses 60% which is a bit too much compared to other games.
@Civ01
Tried the -noblur startup command. But i don't think it made a difference.
Still have motion blur going on (maybe less now), and also the ghosting effect on objects when turning around.
@h0rnyfavn
Yea, my fault. I just kept playing and saw the episode too.
Was actually pretty entertaining.
@Drowning_witch@romatelep2010
I just enabled Upscaling now, i guess you have that too enabled?
With it on i can play on pretty stable 60fps too with most settings maxed.
Using Reshade improves on the image. But the worse graphics are still rather noticable for me.
Well, i prefer fluid gameplay, so will leave it enabled. :O
Btw my CPU is a i5 2500k @ 4.4GHz. Usage during game is ~50-70%.
I don't get the complaints about performance in the Steam version, I have a 970 but both my cpu and ram are below minimum requirements and yet I get almost fully consistent 60 fps on mid-high settings.
I can't complain really, I expected far, far worse.
The story is interesting, the writing is dumb, but atleast not Alan Wake dumb.
The gameplay reminds me alot of Max Payne 1, with some additional abilities, so overall it is a very good game in my opinion.
just finished the game:
graphic is very nice (i have old machine (medium settings) and still it looked very nice).
the story was nice.
about the gameplay...well, i think that there was nothing new in here and i do think that older games that manipulate time as gameplay elemet, have done it better and for example i think that TIMESHIFT has much better gameplay imo and even fear did it better and of course max payne.
overall, it was an ok movie game with nice story, eye candy visuals and average gameplay imo.
TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."
"...like nothing else on television."
"a phenomenon."
"A tangled tale of sex, violence, power, junk food..."
"Like Nothing On Earth"
damn this is a pretty cool game probably buy this at some point, both me & the so were pretty impressed by the first act at least
i just left it with upscaling on, it's a little "consoly" looking but meh, i'm not too fussed, runs at 80-100fps this way on a 1080gtx @ 1440p
seems to be the biggest fps factor
Finished it just now. The game got a bad wrap (and deservedly so) for the whole Windows Store thing and shit performance.
However, I found the story, game-play, and live-action stuff surprisingly well done. Ignoring the technical and release fiasco I'd give it a solid 7.
Also, I played the Skidrow version from start to finish, without a single issue. "The Scene" really needs to take the stick out of their collective fucking asses when it comes to what's "proper". If I can play a game from start to finish without triggers and without having to login to any sort of account, it's proper.
I'm sorry, but if one is so fucking paranoid that they still take the whole "block inbound/outbound requests from .exe in your firewall" request to heart, they better hope they don't own a cellphone / are hooked up to wifi of any sort / and their tin-foil hat is made out of fucking unobtanium - because otherwise, they've already been compromised.
And......

yeah, that is part of the ultra preset. without upscaling I think you need a 10 series card for 60 fps with ultra preset and higher settings.
I can tell you right now, a single 1070 comes nowhere close to cutting it in that regard at 1080p. Look at my system specs - that was pulling 40-45 during the games first sequence at the university with up-scaling off and ultra preset (film-grain off). Put simply, the game's a technical disaster and only just Frankenstein'ed onto PC.
Edit - h0rnyfavn, you're my hero for having the courage to speak up and say exactly what was on my mind. Sometimes extreme measures are necessary, otherwise people simply don't learn. And in that case, I'd say your response was entirely justified.

Though i don't know what it was, but it's much better now.
Maybe that command helped specifically for that kind of problem? While the standard motion blur still is there.
This engine really is a very strange beast.
Enthoo Evolv ATX TG // Asus Prime x370 // Ryzen 1700 // Gainward GTX 1080 // 16GB DDR4-3200
Yeah it's medium, but there re only 3 presets , low, medium and ultra ^^.
Anyway, here some more :
Junction 1 (you have to choose between 2 options, which will then alter the story significantly)
And then you get to see "Episode 1" (based upon the choice you made before), altho it doesn't seem to be all that different in the end, with the exception of the very beginning of it)
Well after 2 hours or so I give up. It's just not worth the time Gameplay and movement are so clunky and the hand holding is ridiculous. Just makes me want to go play max payne.
The story and time gimmick was interesting so I can see why some ppl liked it but it's not for me. Shift delete.
