Are something special. Its like what happens when you take all the money hungry greed from this industry and let a bunch of passionate people make a game, something special.

So yeah i just finished Witcher 3 , like really finish it, both expansions etc.

And it was amazing, an amazing journey, Geralt is my best bro, i want more of his adventures .

Ive never encountered a game that made me feel for a char like this one, not really a rpg, but like a bromance simulator, the connection between the player and Geralt, its something really special.

I have a feeling its gonna be a long as time until we get a series like this, that simply breaks past the economics and corporate gaming bullshit, and really deliver something special, a true journey for the player with so many feels.

Yep, but it doesn't matter when so many people have so few standards or convictions that they stand behind. This is why shit has been able to flourish for as long as it has while still being economically viable

 Spoiler:

Luckily it was a massive success, and hopefully more developers follow a similar path

At least we have Cyberpunk 2077 to look forward to

The game is good but after 120 hours of slashing with that sword I got too bored with it and quit. Great story but lacks gameplay variety.

I was planning on talking about the... "innocence" and peculiar situation CDP is in , and how the game came about, wich is a total 360 from the normal in this industry.

I keep going back and forth between this series and DAI, and it doesnt make any sense.

The difference between the 2 studios is huge, both in experience and in notoriety, yet one managed to stick to their vision relentlesly over the span of 3 games and kept improving and experimenting, and the other feels like they walked backwards from the first one, like its been focus tested into the ground.

Ultimately, i don't think CDP is imune to the forces that drove Bioware into the ground, it may take some time, but ultimately i think they will go the greed ways too, unless they pull a Valve, who knows Very Happy

Is it though? I'm quite used of visual downgrades so I'd say they were quite on par with the industry standards. Cool Face

Don't get me wrong... I love the Witcherina even with its flaws... But I do think some are going a bit too overboard with the praise for the studio and comfortably forgetting certain things.

Also Witcher 3 is a pretty overrated game.

Well yeah they were aiming too high when they first released media for the game, but i was walking around Toussaint yesterday , on my way to the objective and i had to stop in awe at some of the scenery, and how natural they feel. ( And i think this is another thing DAI and other games of this scope simply miss entirely, they fail to make their worlds natural, more alive, DAI has some cool spots, and more shiny than in W3, but it feels a hella lot more synthetic, they feel dead, like MMO maps)

Walking past a vineyard, a little stream flowing, walking past the little lake, and i stopped to hang around the fisher dude.

It is still very much a mesmerizing game if you get past the "It looked shinier at some point" .

Though im not that big on GFX these days Smile

Same, it blends all together well and that's more important to me in the end.
It's just that we gamers usually have a short memory... and yes I include myself in that.

But yes, Witcher 3 is one of the best games of all time, after finishing the last expansion I really miss Geralt, it is as if a friend died Sad

Amen! I mean for fucks sake, that's a mission from the DLC. It left me in complete awe of how video games can redefine story telling. Such an amazing set-up.

First of all, I share all of your thoughts, but this conversation should belong to the Witcher thread, (this is why I'll lock this thread after my reply). Second

Absolutely, this can happen at any time.

You mean that they realize that GOG makes them more money than quality games and that they'll stop and release quality games to cash in on skins and cosmetic shizles for free to play titles? Laughing
