About This Game
Zenith is an action RPG that combines that feel of the golden era RPG games with a generous dose of humor and parody. The game counts with a solid story which unfolds in a fantasy world populated by dozens of unorthodox characters. Adventuring, exploring ruins, accidentally unleashing the apocalypse, saving the world… you’ve done it all, and so has Argus. And, frankly, he’s a bit fed up with the whole thing. He used to be a wizard, which was fine and all, but he’s in his 30s now, and he wants to settle down, get some peace and quiet. But that’s not easy to get with all those spike-haired buffoons dragging their giant swords around and ruining the pavement. Specially when you’re trying to keep a dangerous artifact hidden from meddling heroes with a chosen one complex.

Sure are many action games that are supposedly like the golden era "RPG games".

Zenith starts of with a promising premises, a cool(+looking) world and a nice twist on magic... sadly, there is the rest of the game dragging it down

Full review:

Zenith is a action RPG from Infinigon, chock-full with puns and gaming references. Review copy supplied free of charge. Game: http://store.steampowered.com/app/438420/ About the series: Logic Review...

Text:
Zenith tries so hard to be hip and cool and "in" that its reminds me of corporate managers using a comic sans to be "casual".

The constant immersion breaking references to other titles are so ham-fisted and forced that they not only lose any flavor, but actively detract from the game itself. Both visually and in writing (more below on that) the game breaks it's own world to make cheap puns and relishes in trying to be witty that it even breaks into combat and puzzle mechanics.

The writing is mostly to blame here with not only frequent, but badly written puns being the sole purpose of half the dialogue.. and the other half being a mix of a badly written fan-fiction and young-writer syndrome. It grinds and grates on the eyes, and in a game where you'll be doing a LOT of dialogue - that gets annoying and infuriating fast.

So lets even out the triforce of bad is sound design... which fits with the game about as well as a 90 year old grandmother fits with skydiving while having a heart attack. It doesn't mix, it doesn't switch well between gameplay (non combat / combat) and half the time they force puns into the damn game that serious and tension building moments are utterly ruined from it even from the audio side of things.

Now, having burned it to the ground... the gameplay is ok. the combat is mediocre and while interesting in it's itemisation and character building, doesn't really do anything unique or new. The art syle is pretty cool, even if the game looks outdated and the animations are pretty poor.

But for a Narrative focus based RPG... ugh.

says pretty much the opposite as the above review ... aka that combat is crap but story and references are the best part of this game

After playing for a few hours, I gotta say I like this game. Smile
It's funny and the combat is not so bad. Animations are a bit stiff, but the overall graphics is ok.

Will finish this for sure. Razz

PS Jeez..combat is bad.. and how do I move camera?? I suspect this game has nothing good to offer except for a dubious humor..

Sadly, they cracked game without protection at all.. So with all do respect for Razor (and RELOADED)
I would be more glad for a proper comeback-crack 'D''s games or even Win-10 store...

It's nice having Razor back but I want them to prove they still have the skills..

Played a bit, quit and uninstalled.

It is a) trying too hard and b) not very fun.

Of course, this is based solely upon a very short sneak peak of the game, having played only about 20 minutes ... but in this 20 minutes, the game not only did NOT wake any interest or any sort of "want to go on" feeling in me but actively put me off the whole experience.

It keeps throwing clichés and quotes at you from all kind of things. Movies, games, whatever.

It is just too much.

It is only fun if you sneak in a little hint or whatever about something else, if your own product is actually good on its own merits.

But this ? No thanks.

Well after 15 hours I finished it.

The game had a few flaws, like no proper options(ie audio settings), no sidequest tracker and the game was basically too easy at times.
But it was still very fun and the whole "reference of other games/movies" toned down quite a lot the more I played so it's not constant, imo.

I do recommend it. Smile
