Forgive me, but how does that negate the pay-to-win view? Those that shelled out cash WILL have an advantage over players that didn't and have to start with nothing at all.
Now, how long that advantage lasts is determined by how slow the grind is. It'll eventually equalize out, but the undeniable pure advantage is there.
If you have played Elite Dangerous you could see how big and small ships are handled and how it doesn't matter, and if it did matter there would be huge problems even if you couldn't buy ships prior to release.
lol if you only knew him
What's sad is that number isn't even anywhere close to accurate - I played the closed beta for many hundred additional hours, as well as a few hundred more before it ever moved to Steam.
I can never be free, because the shackles I wear can't be touched or be seen.

Speaking to German magazine GameStar, Chris Roberts has said that the single-player component of Star Citizen, Squadron 42, will be more likely to arrive near the middle or end of 2017 than its current Q42016 window.
Thats the problem when translations are NOT correct....
Here is the right transcript:
MG: "Alright, you made a certain uncle very happy now. Actually, you just anwsered my next question. Squadron 42 is still on track then?"
CR: "We're working hard on that, but it's gonna... you know, think of us being Naughty Dog (He said a few questions before, he rather delays the game as Naughty Dog did with Uncharted 4, because people won't be as frustrated if the game comes out later, if the quality is good, than if you release the game without the expected quality) So.. it's gonna be, it will be great and it's gonna be polished... all the elements will be done this year, so, we're kind of in the close down mode of, we've got all the content, the missions, the play through are all done and blocked in. We finishing all the assets, we finished all the motion capture, we're working on the characters as you can even see on the demo, so that's a background NPC character, that will be in SQ42, we also apply here. So the tech, all these things are sort of coming together, so the thing i can't tell you is, how long it's going to take to polish and make it all work and make it all super smooth. BC we still have some of the AI subsumption stuff, the mission stuff is still first rolling in, so that's a tech dependency and the object container stuff which we'll be show in the first bit is all part of the same, cause we do the same, cause in SQ42 now, you're going down to the planet side infiltration and some other stuff, which we weren't originally going to do, so we upped, like we added some more stuff to SQ42, we made the battle at the end even bigger, it's gonna be absolutely epic. BUT, like i said, consider us on SQ42 we will behave like Naughty Dog, which is like, it has to be right, it has to be polished. So i don't want to make any prediction on that, but the content will be done by the end of this year, and then it's a matter of the polish time. So.."
SQ42 will not come end 2016.. but nothing was said about end of 2017 too.
My guess: SQ42 will be released around spring to summer 2017. Thats about 5-6 month of polishing.
There is a term:
A rushed and bugged game will always be a bad game. A polished game could have been delayed for months but if it is done right, then it does not matter if it was delayed.

Meanwhile...
Back in the real world: Most games come out like shit and get patch-jobs for a year or more until all interest has died.
Let's polish the game, Oh why didn't everyone else think of that! Let's release a fun game, Oh why didn't everyone else think of that! How stupid are they? Or how stupid are the consumers? We buy everything regardless. A lot of Star Citizen's potential customers and hardened supporters have already bought the game.

Yeah, that was point... how far back it was pushed into 2017.
Amazing

I bought this ages ago (lowest pledge to get the game), so i created an account using the same email that i have for KS and bougt the game with.. It still doesnt say i can download it because i haven't bought any "game packages".
Anyone knows how to download this if you bought it?
Unfortunately i cleaned my inbox a while ago so the first emails that says i bought it (from KS) is gone it seems.
Got to say it's a really crappy system with KS.. there's also a few other games i backed years ago that i still havent downloaded because, well, i kind of have forgotten about them and i also can't find a list of of what i bought on KS.. If it was done properly you should have a list of what you bought there, with links to the downloads.

Contact their customer service and they should be able to sort it out for you. I was in the same boat for a few KS games from long ago, managed to get all my keys just from emailing them, getting help.
How is it so smooth? Whenever I run it I can barely turn 90 degrees without it hitching..
I can already hear the: "It's just your potato PC!" comments.
Looking at that vid it seems to run as shit as ever and the worrying part: you can bet your arse they have some ungodly machine to make their videos... so... 2 or 3 more GPU gens before its affordable?

Well, judging by the absence of the Defense Squad, I'd say we are there. I mean they're obviously playing the finished product, and not, you know, avoiding this thread.
Didn't read everything, but it seems like it's his attitude that is the problem. He's too stubborn and won't listen to his developers. But he's a fucking reject and keeps my money hostage. If someone runs him over i'm going to buy a cake to celebrate. Fuck Roberts.
the video is fake / staged anyway.. example 0:30 they show volumetric shadow.. but its not present anywhere else in the video, so who knows what is and isn't real in that video. You really cannot go off anything shown until its gameplay from released game these days.
Dear Gods, those comments! It's like reading something straight from a Cialdini book
"the nay sayers are trying to justify their stance for not backing it more than the people that did back it" "I do hope the developers morale is not hit by this kind of obsessive crusades that constantly jabs them." [
I don't understand why there's such a large group of people trying trash this game so hard and are hoping/wanting it to fail. It's obvious what's happened here. They started a long time ago with basically no (proper) team, no money, no organization.
Money started pouring in and they started to raise the bar on content too ambitiously. It took them about 6 - 12 months to hire and acquire all the correct people to make it happen. Now the game has been in true development for about what? 2.5 years? I'm not talking about when they've announced production to start. I'm talking about when they truly started to work on it with a realistic perspective.
They've been as transparant as I've ever seen. No developer has so intricately publicized development . They're showing huge demo's on gamescom, citizencon on a yearly basis, bringing out content / patches regularly and yet... people just love to drag this game down into the mud. It's never good enough.
I'm not baffled because of the hate. I'm baffled because this type of project, this ambitious fucking dream project that everyone has been wishing for since they've been kids is met with such hate, loathing, skepticism. Even if they only deliver 50% it's still going to be something we've never played before.
I don't understand why you'd want to see this fail and keep spitting on this project as a gamer. Unless it was a blatant scheme from the start. I don't understand and I never will
