I thought when they had the original announcement for these they said if you owned Bioshock 2 you would get the full version of the Remaster with all DLC included but it seems that is not the case as I did not get Minerva's Den and see it as a separate item for sale.

afaik it was pretty clear this wasnt the case from the original announcement. its mentioned as being in the collection set though maybe confused the 2?

I'm replaying Bioshock 1 and I guess I forgot how much combat is in this game. I thought I remembered it as more exploration-focused.

In my case Minerva's Den Remastered was initially listed as separate purchase (not owned), but strangely, after restarting Steam there's the green tag with "already in your Steam library". I suppose it was some sort of technical bogus. Razz
I haven't tested the game(s) yet though, because of the size which is a bit prohibitive for me at the moment.

edit:
Quote:
You can disable intro videos by going here: \ContentBaked\pc\BinkMovies
And deleting/moving/renaming all the .bik files that start with "2K" (7 in total)

You can increase the FOV by going here: \AppData\Roaming\BioshockHD\Bioshock
Open the user.ini file, find the keybind section which looks like this:
A=StrafeLeft
B=AmmoSelectionDown
C=Duck
D=StrafeRight
E=Use
F=MedHypo
G=
H=HintButtonAlias
etc ...
Find any unbound key and put SetFOV X after the equals sign, replace X with any FOV value you want. Example: F7=SetFOV 100
Start the game and press the button to increase your FOV.

This remaster needs a fucking remaster.

I just got into the medical pavilion, and am at the part where the downed bot is blocking the door you need to hack. Constantly crashing over and over at the same spot. And every crash results in game-play settings (notably: game difficulty and custom keybindings) being reset. Also, the game keeps fucking switching to controller prompts despite the fact that I don't have any controllers plugged in.

What a fucking mess. These "Blind Squirrel" cunts that were in charge of porting this really are blind - because they sure as fuck didn't bother playing the release version.

I can never be free, because the shackles I wear can't be touched or be seen.

When a game does this, it's usually because you don't exit the game successfully after changing the settings. Change the settings, exit the game, load it again and if it crashes then, it won't lose it settings.

I know!

Better combat, better writing and less linear levels!

Should be easy.

Umm, it's pretty much as it was in it's original version.
I remember that after I loaded up into the game the mouse was slow as hell and started to 'normalize' after a couple of seconds. Same thing in the menus. So they managed to keep that 1:1 from the original game. Laughing

Welll, it's too many years. I don't remember.

Playing with Steam controller now, much better. Although of course I'm not too used to aiming with controllers, but on normal difficulty singleplayer FPS it's no big deal.

Try adding
MouseSmoothingMode=0

to the user.ini file, right below the other mouse related line in there, near the bottom.

MouseSmoothingMode=0 kind of worked but the game still slows down the mouse speed when starting the game and then gradually after a couple of seconds puts it back to 'normal' (which it still isn't IMO as it's too fast).

Yeah, I actually prefer to play first person shooters with a mouse and keyboard so using the 360 controller isn't really a solution for me. Wink

Do you have any overlays running, I got a crash at startup until I turned off Fraps.
