its kinda strange, it looks like the demo completely reloads after every match. but the soundsettings are not touched for example, but the controls are set to default again (dunno about the buttonconfig cause i play with standard schema)
i just hope they dont change too much from the gameplay in the final (or patch it dead), overall it feels good with some rough edges which are easy patchable. the manual controls feel much more precise than the last years and for me thats the most important point. about momentum and stuff you cant say anything after playing the demo, we will see how much it sucks this year 1-2 weeks after release.
just beaten real with manu 4:0 on wordclass. 3 absolut dream goals which imho never could happen with assisted shooting and passing

Interestingly there is a FIFA_DEMO = 1 and if you set it as 0 game starts behaving like full game lol.
It doesn't load though. |
Cheers, these are always a lifesaver with the demos (as soon as I finish the download - tomorrow most likely).
The new (ugly) Origin client had messed up my registry entries for some reason, had to reinstall it and then I was stuck again for hours waiting for the verification code since EA servers were tits up.

na thats bullshit as fable said before. though i havent tried it on ps4 cause i will be staying on fw 3.55 for a while (and why should i waste another 8gb download for the same game with worse gfx?) . its the same. and btw "better" support on consoles, sure... it will be just like last year -> pc version will get patches atleast 1 week prior derpsoles

My impressions of the demo as posted at OS.
This demo is a disgrace to football videogaming. This plays exactly as the stone ages of EA Fifa 2000-2006.
- The AI is laughable. Playing on Legendary and they just run circles without creating chances. Dribbling, dribbling, going back and forth without a reason. It feels like Pacman The Fifa Edition.
- Cpu AI rarely crosses the ball into the box.
- I haven't seen after 10 games even one long ball by the cpu.
- Penalty system is a complete joke. Cpu AI can't even score from the penalty spot. It's like watching 2yrs old children trying to hit the ball.
- I'm not even impressed by the graphics. Playing on Ultra setting and I find it too cartoony. Yes lighting is improved and some textures (face textures) but the rest is meh.
A positive thing is that cpu D seems more tight. I can't even find a word suitable to describe the cpu attack and build up though...
I really don't know what they were thinking at EA. If this demo is also the final product it's going to be the most epic fail in sports videogaming. Like NBA Live.
I loved last season's game as most of you know. Really really disappointed by this demo. It's shockingly bad.

dunno if i should laugh or not
who cares about the ai? atleast in terms of offline play, nobody! important is the ai of your players, and that seems to work way better than before
penalties dunno, only got one. havent had a shootout against the ai though. but the new set piece system seems to be awesome, though it feels a bit strange at first (you can always switch between the new and old one for tactical free kicks though; but taking freekicks onto the goal seems very different, still hadnt much chances to try).
but always remember: the demo is based on kinda old code, most likely about 3 months old
gfx are not as impressive as the frostbite engine can be (tbh it seems only dice themself can handle it really properly), but it looks much more natural than the last years. most improvements this year are players, their animations and the lightning. still kinda cartoony yes, but not as bad as the last years. try forcing higher aa etc via your driver, improves the visual quality a lot. and some will soon figure out how to increase the lod a lot like the last years
its the small things that make the game great, played with united against city. won close and with the whistle on the lower screen you could see mou running on the pitch and celebrating like a maniac (so basicly just mou himself ). and they improved the options you have in your gameplay, thats the greatest plus (atleast without assists its great). doesnt matter if you want to (and have the free space) to hammer the ball into the net from distance or want to tickitacka it towards the goal. works everything good with good timing, the "flow" of the gameplay is great. but we ofc have to see how it carries over to the final version and how it works online/against other real players. playing the ai is as always a joke (but depends heavily on the opponent team). but as every year: fifa demo gameplay != final gameplay, while pes demo plays always like the final game (and might still have the outdated roster for months )

no, why should they say that? thats what the case with pes but not fifa. its 1:1 identical on pc and ps4/xboner. with the advantage of higher resolution and steady framerates on pc (think cutscenes, menu etc are 30fps on consoles. gameplay itself ofc 60fps, though all the last versions of fifa werent able to maintain 60fps all the time on the ps4; havent tried it now but i doubt it changed)
pc version is superior, just wait a few days till someone releases higher lod settings etc (though ultra on pc should look way sharper than the ps4 version)
never had any connection issues the last years (atleast not when origin wasnt fucked, but then it was happening on consoles too). maybe some indian isp problems? dunno. have you forwared the needed ports? upnp most likely doesnt work and sucks, game itself still was always p2p matchmaking with some connection to ea servers in the us/eu for monitoring results to prevent cheating (which still didnt worked correctly at all). still have the hope they changed the online part from beeing pure p2p to some server infrastructure (and I WANT MY LOBBIES BACK!!!)

How's the entire game running in Frostbite when they sure ported some of the older stuff in Frostbite?? This is the definition of hybrid.

assets, not parts of the old engine. if they would use parts of the old engine you would see files for that (configs, gamedata, etc). they didnt build it from the scratch on frostbite

Keep the faith, it might still happen. First 6 hours in BF I didn't see any of those weird body movements either.
It's actually a nice footy game, been quite a while since I played a modern one (last one was probably when PES was still great ). The attacking and passing feels very natural and fluent. Lot's of options in advancing and shooting on goal.
My biggest gripe with is that the defending feels quite the opposite of it. While the A.I. does nicely with pressuring the other side, it does far too little for capturing the ball or sometimes just stepping into a pass. As to taking control and defending: it just feels very robotic like/clunky and rather slow. It's quite jarring in comparison with the attacking play.
I do realise most are always more into attacking play than defending but they could have spent a bit more time in that area.
It has some weird quality issues where heads of some players look pretty decent and others quite bad. In the area of graphics you'll find more inconsistencies like that... then again those are just minor things I can ignore.
Comes close for me to buying it but... I'd wish SP and MP would be pulled apart. I always liked local co-op with my friends but I'm not that interested in playing online these days. So it feels silly for me to paying the amount they ask when I'm throwing away half the things they offer for that price.

The EA guys are wizards. They finally changed the obsolete engine with a completely new, more modern one, and the game still feels and looks the same xD
There are some improvements here and there of course (additional animations, more off-the-ball movements, tweaked shooting along with the more obvious redesigned corners/penalties - which I don't like really) but still, it's actually quite hard to tell that this is the Frosbite, as the twitchy online-oriented core gameplay has basically remained unchanged. As expected, they are afraid of altering such a successful formula, in a sense serial sports games like Fifa share a lot of similarities with Call of Duty.
Not terrible by any means on full-manual, mind you, but I was expecting...more to be honest. I agree with Fearwhatnow about the AI, it definitely feels rough and pretty damn basic, so to speak (not surprising, either, as offline here was an afterthought ).
Even the visuals themselves are yes improved, but the exaggerated lighting effects and players' likeness give odd results, I wonder if they'll be selling a DLC with all the missing faces. Here's hoping for an ISOdemo for some offline play, or a ghetto bypass, whatever does the job, ain't gonna give these lazy bums a dime.

Haha yup, you can tell that the cringe will be strong with that one. It's also incredibly scripted as expected, in the debut match defenders let Derper do whatever he wants since he must necessarily score and impress Mourinho.

glad im not alone in this. there seems to be no (major) discernible differences in gameplay at all
did they think they could just get away with adding 'the journey' and set pieces circa 2005?

Yes... I'd noticed that Token Black Guy was able to defeat Chelsea defenders with ease, despite him being a sub, new and never played in the Premiership before. The authenticity is strong with this one.
