Not at all. Shooters are a dime a dozen - the market is over-saturated if anything. As for melee combat oriented titles - not so much.
What do we have? Chivalry, War of the Roses, and the upcoming Kingdom Come Deliverance. That's it. Three in the last, what, 4 years (with two coming out in the same year, and one not out yet).
And from what that game-play video showed, it's more about looking tacti-cool then having any sort of melee tactic.
Also, I wouldn't hold CS as the bar for ANYTHING (apart from washed up has-beens trying to re-live their teen glory years possibly) 
I can never be free, because the shackles I wear can't be touched or be seen.

yea but isn't it precisely why we need more when we have so few in this genre? Maybe this game will be shit, but I'd rather we have some variety so people know what's good and what's not. Then whoever makes the next one might learn a thing or two.
Also I only said CS because I thought of saying Arma, only to remember Chivalry aren't realistic at all, so CS seem like a better choice there. I don't think it is the best of FPS. The point was that we can have variety in a genre, and with one so sparse, we could have more. This isn't moba after all.

I'm right there with ya, more entries in a sparse genre is always a good thing, provided however that they are serious entries that try to advance or otherwise refine the genre in some way (basically, put forth a serious effort).
I simply don't see that here. It's very clear who this was made to appeal to - couch gamers - and that is not the direction such a relatively young and unrefined genre needs to be headed in to find its footing. This is one step forward, two steps back. It's a very short and slippery slope into Caw of Dooty!11 territory from here.

yea well at this point I see the game more as a single player than multiplayer, I have no faith on Ubisoft to make good multiplayer, well maybe except Siege. Which is kind of why I don't think Chivalry has much to do with this. For Honor looks more like any third person action game.
