i doubt the games have other checks than ps3 games, so maybe simple editing of one file could be enough for most of the games. but we will see what happens

Honestly,if I had exploit similar to Henkaku I have seriously considering waiting for PS4 pro and FW 4.0 to pawn them both once they got released...

sure, if they have something (which may work on 4.0 too which is available as beta) they will probably hold it back (atleast till 3-4 weeks before the release of the ps4 pro)

Precisely, ps4 has at least the same checks as PS3.
Which means every firmware revision includes new app keys.
Which means that if you don't know 4.00 keys, then you can only decrypt and play 3.55 games...
We had keys for PS3 only because it was hacked beyond kernel (lv0 and this took what... 6 years I guess ?)

Even though current 4.0 beta FW didn't fix the WebKit vulnerability, I bet you that 4.0
Final will fix it... Then no open entry.

Wololo have said that's very possible some hackers do have userland exploit and waiting for krenel one to be released... But we will see.. If 3.55's exploit krenel will be out it will be obviously use the current one instead of wasting more if found

Call me negative and pessimistic but somewhat I'm not really excited about recent PS4 breakthrough knowing that Sony can just resecure their console easily with FW updates and block new games.
Somehow I was excited with PS3 3.41 Jailbreak dongle that got released about 4.5 years after PS3.
PS4 will be 3 years soon yet even if by november we have 3.55 exploited and all 3.55 games cracked, I wouldn't be THAT excited.
Maybe because back then I didn't have PS3 and when I bought PS3 3.41, I knew I had a huge collection to catch on.
Now, I have played most interesting PS4 games already, so it's probably why I don't care much.
Maybe I'm a bit selfish 
I think I will be only excited if the console is pwned forever, even if we need 3.55 base, that we can use new games on that (like PS3 current status, or 3DS at a certain degree (all FW can be downgraded on 3DS with DSi exploit/hardwaredowngrader).

4.0 OFW is coming out tommrow,so we probably won't see
3.55 jailbreak unless Sony somehow patched the yet to be published krenel exploit.. Its feature HDR support for all models..

The hacking efforts should shift to 4.0 at this point.
If we will see PS4 jailbreak I hope hackers saved thier krenel exploiot to 4.0+ as it's the best OFW so far..
We will see if Sony patched the userland one.. It wasn't patched in the beta but it does makes sense..

+1 Both psp and PS3 there was a workaround to made OFW+ games to run on older hacked console even before both console completely pawnd when it comes to dycrpation.
So I assume it might take few months we will see a way newer fw keys will work on jailbroken console.

Ok,If I understand correctly the publicly released Webkit exploit was patched on 4.00,but another one may be found:

So "entrypoint" is relatively easier to find then krenel...
I would still recommend staying on 3.55 for now,but as I said:
If another one found I don't think 3.55 will ever get kernel exploit... there is some chance that like Henkaku,some group or someone found antoher krenel and still working on it... And this will probably released on latest FW....
Team molecule found the current Henkaku already by 2014(iirc) and took their time to properly working on it, and released on FW that pretty much everyone has access on it, but we will see.

Yes, as a general rule kernel exploits are much harder to find than userspace ones.
Especially in a BSD-based SO like the PS4 one, which is designed with security as a primary concern.

I might have did the stupid move ever but I just bought ps4 with stack 3.5 which I would stay for a while..
I read on PSXhax there is nice progress on krenel and JB might be around the corner..
It might be better should have wait for pro but hackers suggested to stay as low as possible so I decided to buy it
If no JB will be for a year I might consisder selling it.. But I am optimistic.

as i said before: if they have something which would work on ps4 pro aswell (or atleast theoretical should work) they are waiting that long that sony isnt able to fix it before the consoles get shipped (means 4-6 weeks prior release). and if they would have something which works only on consoles on lower firmwares they would have already released it

Good point, but at least normal PS4 is still cheaper and I don't have 4K capable TV or display... The main advantage would be more FPS in high end games...
I could always sell it and get pro,but I don't think it will ever happen.. already have PC capable on more then PS4 pro...
I strongly believe normal PS4 still capable for 4k on simple games(2d or dated 3d games) And Videos but we would have to hack both consoles to "unlock" this feature.

I am having my hopes for JB or something good for at least 3.55(maybe they could deal with 4.00) in the next few months.
For me,JB is more important then playing newest games,Fuck Sony,I tested my console a bit,they think we are some sort of cashcows who need to pay for almost ANYTHING... if I had the skills,I'd be working on hacking it as well,but I only started working on android's apps development...

"Backups" on 1.76 are definitely possible.. Fifa 14 just got decrypted less then 10 days a go.. No loader been developed yet though because 1.76 ps4 is very limited and low numbers of hackers have access to it.. Though lot of critical parts already dumped or reversed thanks to 1.76..
1.76 JB is similar to henkaku on VITA and hackers like Yifan Said the Vita is more "secured" then all current consoles... And yet still got hacked..
The ps4 has separate CPU for decryption called SAMU so its very hard to get decryption keys even with kernel access .. However you would still be able to force it to decrypt almost anything..
Thats what I think how FIFA 14 got decrypted..

Fifa 14 but yes.
I'm surprised that people didn't manage to boot it up.
As far as I know you can boot up debug executables on 1.76 so technically you should be able to boot up Fifa 14.
