Went back and played it a bit a coupla weeks ago actually. Was underwhelmed compared to when I first played it years ago. I just don't feel good when im killing stuff. No force of impact, no blood no gore no nothing except sometimes enemies fly back in a comical astronaut-fashion. Pretty much the only thing I like is the varied locations and the graphics. Coulda been so much better!

That's what I felt when I tried playing it coop with a friend a while ago.
I love the whole character development system and it has awesome skills and loot, but killing stuff feels boring compared to diablo.
It's cool that the developers acknowledged that exact issue with the game, blaming the publisher for it turning out that way, and they're promising to fix it with their new game, Grim Dawn. So I'm definitely looking forward to that one all the more.
I think the sense of impact from attacks that you get from animations and sounds is one of the most important aspect of an action rpg like this and if it's not there I can't take the repitition.

Ugh, I played Lilith loooooooong time ago so I can't tell if one is better than another. Both are great imho, with Lilith being a bit harder.

Wow, who is even patching this game now? Hasn't Iron Lore Studio that made it has been long gone (with a few remnants doing Grim Dawn)?
Also, did they include the fixes for quests, etc from the unofficial patch 1.17a for the game?

All good questions that demand answers.
It's been so long that I've forgotten whether I need to install the base game on Steam in order for Immortal Throne to work. Anyone remember? I'm leaning towards yes, but still not confident.
I can never be free, because the shackles I wear can't be touched or be seen.

NordicGames bought the licence back then and announced a patch (was two years ago i think) andn ow finally delivered
Patches are only touching the MP,which was kaputt after Gamespy went down, and the renderer,so far no changes that are in the Fanpatch were added by the devs

Yup! They're definitely doing a good job, first the welcomed patching of the beloved Nexus and now TQ itself receiving the same treatment..
They must have something really dodgy planned if they feel the need to earn our trust this way. /cynical mode xD

As I am back to playing Grim Dawn decided to try TQ anniversary edition as well.
Best addition is the speed setting. Vanilla TQ is very slow in comparison with modern ARPGs.
Also loot drops seem to be better to and Dream mastery got nerfed.
In comparison with Grim Dawn, TQ AE with all added Quality of Life features still looks dated. Grim Dawn improved almost everything.
The stuff I still like in TQ
- More colorfull palette
- Insane amount of various monsters and beasts
- Seamless caves
- Linear map design
Especially like the last thing. In Grim Dawn there are multiple paths to the same destination and occasional roadblocks . As I like to explore the whole map I have to do a lot of backtracking and use a map a lot. In TQ map just changes general direction.
