In 2016 after how many game launches (countless) they have had experiences with they never ever can anticipate server demand at the outset? What are they, NEW?!? A small indie-pendant fledgling company?

Yeah, it's pretty dumb of them not to see it coming. They should consider stress testing their servers before doing something like this. Best way to do it would be to have an open beta.

So are riding horses worth it? |
The horse is fun and overpowered. You one-shot infantry with the sword and the skill cap isn't too high as the horse is pretty easy to control. Using the rifle properly requires some practice, but doesn't take long to get used with it.

After 6-7 hours of playtime i think i will buy it.
Looks nice, runs good and sound is absolutely impressive. It doesn't feel like a true BF game, but it's still fun. Tanks are OP and there is not enough ways to destroy them, map choice for beta is awful and there are some problems with HUD (indication for wounded teammates, etc.), but it's something which isn't hard to fix.

A thing I've noticed, I don't think the 42% scale resolution is the default, looks very odd using that one. When I increased it to 50 ithen it the image became crisp like when you play at native resolution. My guess is they knew native resolution was still too heavy in the current optimization pass so they made 42% the default for the beta, but I'm sure they'll sort that out in time for release day (if it isn't already). Same situation with the CPU usage which seems excessive just like it happened with the BF4 beta, but that was also fixed before release day. |
You can use the drawscreeninfo command to see internal resolution - 42% is the native one as long as you don't touch it. It will be a little off if you mess with it. You can reset to defaults to fix it.
Also, increasing rendering scale makes the game more detailed, always was that way with Frostbite, that is why it can look crisper.

How is it possible that half the team is assault yet no one uses the fucking AT gun to take out the goddamn tanks? Unbelievable.
In 12 hours of gameplay, I saw ONE person attempt to take out a tank, the rest pretend it's not there thinking maybe it'll go away.

Haha, it reminds me of Dragon Age Inquisition's amazing horse, the one that could climb up steep mountains like a panda 4x4, and freefall from insane heights without feeling anything at all. A rubber tank

i dont want to upgrade
well, i tested it a bit and rush is the only one really working for me, when i test 64 player server its not really playable anymore..
so no 64 maps for me, maybe 32 or 48 player will work also for me..
but hey, my old turd did it longer then i expected, haha...
good oll Q9550 But now it hits the limit.. constantly 99% on each core (64 player map)..
And theres an memory leak somewhere, yesterday that game used all of my 8gb ram AND 20GB of pagefile... WTF???
After restarting the game its all fine again and you can play 3 or 4 rounds till you have to restart the game so its not going to turn into a stutter fest...

Been having alot of fun trying to take out tanks with AT mines and AT nades as ive noticed the same thing, people just ignore them. Tank drivers in turn seem to react alot less to me too, making the at mines alot of fun xD
Maybe people arent using the AT gun much becuase it requires more then warbonds to unlock, after a few hours of play I havent unlocked it so far.

I got it unlocked, but rarely use it because it does so little damage to the tanks. Only like 12 if I remember correct and you only have three/four shots.

Also you have to get prone or be infront a wall or something to deploy it. It does a bit more than 12, like 20.

My opinion so far:
Pro:
- Graphics, atmosphere, sounds!
- Destruction
- Optimalisation (for older hardware)
Contra:
- Just 'another' BF game with the known popular ingredients. Why not add an extra mode or something really new?
- No VR. 2016 was going to be THE year for VR-helmets, right... . If the big developers don't release new games with this support, VR will stay a gimmick.
- Gameplay is too fast. This is supposed to be a WWI game? Please let them add an option to slow down the gameplay in hardcore mode.
- Too many automatic rifles.
- No teamplay, but that's normal when something new is released.
At this moment a no buy for me.
Maybe they can surprise us in the final release, but at this moment it feels exactly like COD in a bigger (and nicer!) environment.

They might introduce a new mode, but they haven't said anything about it, yet.

Weak argument unless they were an indie house but even then you ALWAYS build more than you need in IT as its much harder to build up then back down.
