I'm assuming we get to meet some of the other test subjects? Even if she was nr. 11, there could have been like 1000... and 10000 monsters. Then they have to assemble an army and fight in the upside down to close the dimensional rifts forever! That sounds cool in my mind, but I dunno how they're going to do this. IF there are more kids like 11, she loses some of what makes her special, unless she's like a Neo of the test subjects.

Just finished S1 and loved it. Very cool shit.
I really hope Eleven is back. I suspect they'll bring the actress back, and maybe have her play other "numbers" (aka they're all clones possibly?)

You can bet she is back because of what the chief did at the end of the seasons episode.

i doubt youll see more experimental children, since the science dude seemed to show so much interest in her, and she was the one doing all these amazing things, i suspect shes the only one that really made much progress. the others are all either dead, worthless, or insane, so probably not all that interesting to explore
MY hope is just tha they get better writers for season 2. the concept is cool, but it needs to be handled better, and be less reliant on 80s tropes and aim to be a bit cleverer.

Not sure I agree. Part of the allure and enjoyment for me was the way it was written and the throw back to the 80s (or really 90s story writing approaches)

you can have fun using tropes in your story, but when we look back at a lot of older films we see them for what they are - the super lazy writing of the time. Relying on it ENTIRELY to drive your story however, where do you draw the line? after some point it becomes less about paying homage to the eras storytelling and does indeed just become lazy.

I agree, it was simplistic and rather cheesy, so they handled it 100% correct for what it was supposed to be and what kind of mood they wanted for the series.

I rather have some cheese that knows that it's cheese than some turd that thinks it's shakespeare.

but would you rather have a lazy show masquerading as cheese, than a great show that is well written is the question.
no ones saying the cheese isnt part of its charm, no ones saying its not a fun show, but they are using it primarily to cover up for below average writing, and resting on the excuse of it being an homage, doesnt change the fact that its still nothing but an excuse because the writers arent all that good.

Regardless, it's a pretty good show. Not great, but it doesn't fall short in terms of quality. Some decisions were handled poorly, like the character development. Still barely know anything about any of these characters after a season. Also, I must be the only one who stopped caring about the kid that disappeared, after 4-5 episodes I just couldn't be bothered to give a poop about him..
Also, when they were deciding on whether to do something risky or not, using the fireball example (since the kid used it in D&D to try and save the others) was so fucking dumb, literally just as stupid as the Martha bullshit in BvS.
Still, good show, you can literally nitpick around this show quite a bit, but overall it doesn't subtract that much from the quality.

Tried Black Mirror?
TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."

Are you stuck in the 80/90s?
Really weird you can't enjoy stranger things... also just watching 1 episode of everything doesn't help at all

Yeah, you might want to give some more recent examples.
That being said, wasn't too fond of American Horror Story either. Was a bit of a nonsensical mess, kinda reminded me of those later seasons of The X-files. Things happen because... well things happen silly!
People won't take you seriously when you call Breaking Bad and Game of Thrones bs though. I could get they are not for everyone, but it might be better to say what you didn't like if you want some decent suggestions.

Here's hoping season two goes beyond a nice 80s vibe with a shit script.
