Yes, it seems he isn't aware that you could do that in Dishonored 1 as well, among countless other games. Of course now he's backpedaling hard on twitter, saying it was a "joke" that "gamergaters" didn't get.

I don't think he gets at all what GG is bothered about . Now if you weren't allowed to kill female enemies or were punished for it THEN he'd have a point.
Also, having just completed Deus Ex, there's a big kick about getting past enemies without killing them. I personally enjoy the extra challenge - even more so if you get non-lethal ways of taking them out that require different tactics (like in Thief and Deus Ex where you had to whack them from behind).
How far the mighty have fallen ... . PC Gamer used to have such clever and balanced writers that were masters as cynicism, wit and going against popular opinion if they really believed in something. Now it's a haven of SJWs that look down on gamers.
