What's the best program for that? I need to record, edit, chop up, apply effects and so on. ~10 years ago I used Audacity. I've never done that much audio editing before, but I have to for an upcoming project.

Thanks!

Yeah but I guess Inter asks for a more personal recommendation. Audacity does all of what you describe allright, but it feels like mspaint for audio editing and there should be something better out there... I too would be interested in personal testaments of alternatives Smile

I agree with Cocksali.
Audacity is the masterrace under audio editing programs.

SoundForge by far.. If you want to have several tracks of audio then Cubase (been using for 20+ years). But again, if you dont need tracks and e.g want to edit a single sound / sample, then i really prefer to just to load up SoundForge, it's easier to work with, far better than WaveLab too imo.

And yes audacity is kind of like the MS-paint for audio. I mean you can use it but it's not something that would be recommended for pro use really Wink
