Biggest disappointment is the lack of physics and gravity. Planets are waaaay too close to each other and don't really orbit their sun. Such a disappointment the first time you get to space, and all the system's planets look like moons of the planet you came from and they're all visible to the naked eye.
Of all the 'fancy' technology and formulas they used, they couldn't include the one that Frontier: Elite II did 25 years ago.
I imagine it would make world generation even easier, with having an actual circumstellar habitable zone for life and such.
So what if the distances to travel are larger (wasn't this one of Sean's arguments for having them closer?), just increase the ship's speed.
+100. Say what you want about Mack , (and yes, I can see how some people might not like his "style" of commentary), but his points are always dead on and he never holds back. The guy's old school through and through.
I can never be free, because the shackles I wear can't be touched or be seen.

I don't really like his style of videos, and I sometimes disagree on some points he makes about games (like shitty keyboard+mouse support in games like dark souls), but his video about NMS was spot on.
It's hard not to make a proper review on a game that deserved every bit of the negative feedback. I see that some people hail up to that WAB stupid, but the scores and reviews he made on other games so far have been completely fucking shit and I am sure 90% of you would agree if you bothered checking up on it.
He doesn't score them? Just thumbs up/down. And yeah, he does thumbs down my favorite games (like dark souls or Witcher 3) but he just speaks his opinion, just like everybody else. I disagree with lot of his reviews, but this one I can agree on 100%.
Even on his thumbs down, and even though i love witcher and some other games, i can agree with him, he makes exagerations for the sake of the views, making the whole thing work against him, but i agree with most of his reviews, theres very few i watched that i didnt fully agree, witcher might be the only one that i could see why ppl hate him...
Most of his negative reviews are for the sake of improvment on the industry.. thats a good thing, he wants a witcher with better combat, we all want, the combat was enough to keep us all engaged but it could be so much more, they did what they could, im sure his review might be seen by cdprojekt, and they might take a few notes, who knows.
The guy is a fucking attention whore who gives thumbs up to crap and thumbs down to really universally great games, he is as bad as pewdiefag and the rest of them.

They didn't even include a decente day/night cycle
Aaaaaand... she's bored with it and has a massive list of complaints about missing content and gameplay design. So 1,5 day for someone that is new to 'survival' games
Was quite funny to observe that excitement and then seeing the transition to being utterly bored.
(No didn't influence her at all, was too interesting to see how it would play out on someone that didn't follow all the hype and negativity!)
Wonder how long the honeymoon phase will last with the casual crowd.
Content wise, it's essentially at the stage these games are when they just start Early Access.

I checked out the ending on YouTube... No spoilers here but truthfully, if you're thinking of suffering through the game for the ending, don't. It's a COMPLETE waste of time. It's not even funny bad, it's just a complete waste.
Even with cheating the jumping took waaaaaaaay too long so went ahead and spoiled it by watching a vid... it's what I expected to happen just in a much more daft way.
A pity, they really could have made something better out of all this. Ah well, every decade needs a Spore I guess.

It's the same as pre-magicalsuperpatch, right?
Spoiler:
Just starting over again
I haven't seen how it was pre-magicalsuperpatch but if what you write in your spoiler is how it was then yes.
I watched it too earlier this morning (I was annoyed, but still curious to see how far they could go). Well damn, the sad trombone was even worse that I expected, and I expected nothing
It solidifies the fact that we're in front of the accurate gaming equivalent of "clickbait", in its hyperbolic and ultimately pointless way. Hell, a final jump ending with a goatse would have been a more meaningful experience.

Yeah, I called it a "polished early access" a few weeks ago in this topic because that was my prediction. Turns out my prediction was spot on - lacks content, relies far too heavily on procedurally generated content and in the end is a grind fest that ends up boring you.
Thing is, a proper space survival game could be amazing. Empyrion is on the way to do it really well but if there was a game that could combined the aesthetics of Elite with the freedom of games such as Empyrion and 7 Days to Die, we'd have an instant classic. Instead we get this abortion that has perhaps a quarter of what it takes to be a good game.
Just started playing FTL after it had been mentioned here and I only played it for ~15 minute before without really caring... lol that game is 100x more enjoyable than this silly grind fest. Minecraft has a billion times more interesting content than this stuttery shitfest.

you never played FTL? shame on you pumpy!
after few normal runs, go check their forums for mods: they add so much crazy shit on that little gem <3
I don't know how anyone could even play NMS for more than ~2 hours without getting bored
Indeed. Now get this - there are lurkers on this very board that bought this POS even after trying ISO demo - I know one
Generally I am glad if some people can enjoy it, but the fuck is wrong with them buying it and supporting these shady scammer developers! It hurts the industry as a whole when others see that they can get away with it
