Finally tried the demo, this must be one of the most polished turd of 2016.
Trudge slowly through a low-res generated terrain to obtain 20g of herpi-derpium to improve your ship thrusters by 10 percent.
The THRILL!!!

It's only a problem for some of those that spent money on it
137,588 In-Game at the game cost compared to say siege on steam 16,761 In-Game, siege was pricey when it first came out also remember. Now its bargain bin price
not bad really would you not say

Kinda wish the game had VR-support. Then I could excuse the bland-as-toast gameplay. Hell, if I ever get a Vive and they iron out the kinks and make it compatible with the headset, I might buy it for 20$.

This game's fanboys are like delusional cultists. I was reading the NMS reddit and someone posted a message requesting that people not defend such a bad port, he was met with responses like "hundreds of thousands are playing without any issues" and "I bet you're one of the people who sent Sean Murray death threats".

Finally got to try the game. It is less than I expected (but I knew that from streams), but they delivered what they promised (so far seems like it), but after an hour I'm already getting a little bit bored, however I won't stop until I find an Earth-like planet at least. Gonna buy when this costs 30 or 40 euros, 60 is just... too fucking much. Except if they release so much content that it justifies the price by "including" a season pass (therefore 0 paid dlcs).
Definitely worths a try.
(i5 4570, GTX 760 2Gb: stable 60 fps in borderless window, maxfps 60, medium settings, 4x AF, no AA)

For those that like this 'masterpiece' and are still playing it, found a fix for FOV on Steam forums:
1: Head to: D:\Program\Steam\steamapps\common\No Man's Sky\Binaries\SETTINGS (or wherever you have your game installed).
2: Open: "TKGRAPHICSSETTINGS"
3: Look for "FoVOnFoot" and ""FoVInShip" and simply change the value to whatever you like.
4: Be sure to make the file read only after changing it's values, else it will return to whatever you have selected ingame upon starting it.
I haven't even dl-ed the demo.
Will wait a few months for the game to get closer to release version 1.0, now that it's Early Access version is out... Probably by march 2017 game will be mostly complete.
You must preorder your party before venturing forth.™ • FOV Calculator • Are you mindful today? • Women: Know Your Limits!

It does very clearly make a difference, but I think it's the nature of voxels to pixellate things regardless.
It's a very good idea to force 16x AF from the control panel. The in-game AF is pretty meh.

The depth in this game is like a children book
You get to a planet (doesn't matter if it is nuclear/toxic/cold/water) get some stuff, destroy some sentinels (wtf with that idea) and leave.
Rinse and repeat

Btw, if anyone started off well and then got to another planet and it went to shit, controls, fps etc etc, just save on that planet and restart game. All goes back to great performance again. No idea what causes that but I guess it will get fixed
You can easily notice it as usually ones gpu drops to like 33% instead of maxed out.

Lol.
Game is an easy 8/10 for me. Just played an hour or so. Thought I'd just play 15 minutes. Time sink.
It's just an exploration game which suits me. Had to mine some things for the engine. Found critters that had that. Wiped out a massive colony just to mine the thing then I read the instruction and said that it would be highlighted by holographic cubes. Was only 5 minutes away. Felt sad.

Wish it was geared more towards survival in harsh conditions. Right now there's just no challenge whatsoever.

Like others, I nearly bought this. Glad I didn't etc. Wouldnt say it's even worth £10 now (and that's not much these days in other currencies)
Uninstalled my 'demo' and glad to be rid of it.

with high traffic review sites like IGN commenting on that, I hope HG decides to balance it a bit better.
