I will be, I followed this game since it wss announced up to where they said it wasn't going to have MP anymore. I'll see if it's worth the buy or not. Just from what I've seen, there isn't full price worth of content, but I can be proven wrong.

Yup, hence why I won't even bother. And all I've seen so far kinda confirmed what I expected and I'll just skip it. Not my cup of tea. Doesn't stop me from bashing on the hype marketing fad and Phil Fish clones though.

Well, I'm not gunna bash Sean for the hype, gaming is a business, businesses make money or they'll fail, so why wouldn't he accept the hype and sell more copies. Every single person here would allow the same thing to happen if they had a game coming out they worked on and was anticipated as hell. More copies sold = food on the table

You see a lot of heated discussion on MMORPG.com because of those cultural differences. Quite entertaining

Please don't assume everyone thinks like you do.
There are many ways of doing marketing - and there are ways to be honest to your audience without going bankrupt.
You can have food on your table without stuffing yourself with muffins on the side.
However, it's true that exploiting your audience is extremely common - but that doesn't make it universally appropriate.
Personally, I don't really care about hype or marketing lies. I just like to call it like I see it, and NMS is an incredibly obvious example of delivering far, far less than you've promised.
To me, being a boldfaced liar and opportunist isn't "ok" because other people are like that. Then again, it's not necessarily "not ok" because I think it's weak and pathetic.
We're all different with different ideas of how to be a fair person.

It's funny how you have all written the game of as a failure, though. Nothing really indicates that yet. There are a lot of positive impressions over at reddit (yeah, yeah).
Again, I am not saying that ultimately you will not be right, but I have never experienced SUCH a "predisposed" attitude towards something in here. It's like you have decided that it is a fail without even having tried it or any real reviews being out yet. It's honestly a bit weird.
Also all the "liar" stuff has gotten out of hand. If all you can come up with is the 60 FPS and multiplayer stuff (which again might be an error and might actually end up BEING in the game) then I think maybe that rhetoric needs to take a break.

All these videos are about are those jumping on the bandwagon of the typical hate bullshit of a game and riding with it for their own gains. That is it nothing more. The stupid over acting voicing and pitiful joke name twists just show this.
I would take a guess here that half of you at the minimum that have done the same negative shit in this thread were not going to pay for it anyhow and grab the gog version.

I agree that there has been WAAAAY too much hype around this game. I don't know if people have just been impressed with the procedurally generated gazillions of planets or whatnot. That just boils down to people not really understanding how such stuff works, though (they are impressed with irrelevant numbers).
But still, should Murray have said no to coming on the Colbert show or..?
Of course they are not saying "wait a minute, stop, this is really just a game folks, we probably cannot generate 18 quintillion planets so that they all seem realistic and interesting, some of the animals will be similar, and HEY there will be lots of bugs!" etc etc.
EDIT: my point being: what should they have done differently?!

I'm not telling people what they should or shouldn't do.
AFAIK, we've been calling it for a long time, so I don't think it has anything to do with expectations. It's just a response to a ridiculously out-of-proportion marketing campaign.
Nothing more, nothing less.
If the guy feels good about being deceitful over and over in public, I won't try to stop him.
I'm just saying the game isn't what he's trying to claim it is - and it never was.
Nothing more than that.

One is more likely to give an honest opinion about a product (game or otherwise) if it's acquired with no strings attached and at no financial cost. I'm far more likely to trust the opinion of a pirate than a fanboy that's had his pre-order in a year in advance and been riding the hype train for many many years (not referring to you, just in general).

1) Bitching about piracy on a piracy forum.
2) Assuming because we ISO Demo shit we don't pay for our games?
Also consider the fact that just about everyone above me that's been here more than a few years has about the same amount of games than I do,
That's not including the handful on Origina, the few on Uplay and the 20+ games I own on GOG.com, nor the shelf full of physical copies sitting behind me.
Go ahead and assume all of us don't buy our games because your precious hype isn't fitting our standards. We pay for our games that deserve it.
I'll keep that post in mind that we're a bunch of filthy pirates come the xmas giveaway where we're giving away hundreds of dollars worth of games that were paid for.

I mostly don't pay for games but i'm not exactly rich, i'm not biased as i said many times before i like to judge stuff on my own and not jump on a hype/hate train, the hate this game gets now is as ridiculous and stupid as the hype before in my eyes.
