I think what the game is really missing is events. Somewhat random events like for example the way some things happen in Fallout New Vegas. You may be walking around and stumble into interesting stuff going on.
That would really propel the game imo. And they could add more events with future updates, keeping the interest up.
If you know that you will land on a planet and nothing will really be going on there, it gets boring fast. And feels empty, especially with non-working multiplayer.
On the flip side, those who require a structured game, which floods your UI with objective after objective overlaid on top of a nice, neat map, will not enjoy No Man’s Sky. Part of the beauty of the unstructured nature of this and other sandbox games is that you can do whatever you want within the game’s mechanics;
I like how those assholes try to put the lack of content in a good light.
This game is Spore with LESS gameplay, if that's at all possible.
Spore without letting you design your own creatures, Spore without having 4 layers of gameplay (yeah they mostly sucked but still), etc.
This game seems to be the type of game where I'd play for 5 hours and then wonder what the hell I'm doing with my life because it would feel like 5 hours lost.
I am sorry guys but this thread has evolved into maybe the most stupid thing I have seen during my time on the hump.
You are shouting and ridiculing all the fanboys but you are the EXACT same - just opposite. You are COMPLETELY biased and not giving the game or the developers ANY chance.
Now, I don't have it. I don't know if it will be boring or not. But besides the multiplayer stuff (which might be a SERVER ISSUE!!) I can't see that the game is much different from what was promised if one paid attention.
It is probably the most impressive procedural generation ever made, but that might not be enough. My point just is, stop being asshats, and at least wait till you can try it or more reviews are coming out.
And also, rest assured that the game will receive TONS of patches, so it might get a lot more interesting down the road...

Possibly. The NMS fangay community is mostly gullible 12-18 year olds. And this community is just mostly jaded people who's gotten buttfucked by numerous devs over the years. Then again the GTA threads here are always pretty hype-mania.
Yeah, the port was shit, but we don't know if that's not the case with NMS either. Either way, I was talking about the game quality itself. GTA games have been consistently good. Joe Danger I guess was OK, but that was a simple platformer (NMS is made by Joe Danger devs)

I doubt that many people here would hate on the game, if the asshole Sean Molyneux would have just developed the game without all the lying and overhyping shit surrounding it.

Exactly. Most aren't even truly hating on the game itself. They're hating the hype machine behind it, the stupid fanboys and the behaviour of the devs / marketing in general.

See, I think you are being a bit unfair to him. What is it he has been lying about? (yeah, yeah, the multiplayer stuff is brought up all the time, but that might have been an error or something. Or perhaps a lie, and if so that is of course not good, but what else?)
its just Sony marketing Indie game as AAA as for the Murray i gts i watched different interviews (apart from the MP thing which is irrelevant to me anyway , what else he did lie about???)

He also lied about the game running at 60 fps on ps4, and it runs at 30 fps.
Not that pc master race should care but it's still a lie
Well, I don't know about you guys but not being upfront about what the game actually is and what you're doing with and in it... doesn't exactly give me an impression of honesty. Rather the opposite. And as a customer I'm allowed to not give a fuck who the person is that is responsible for it in the end. They gave us a spokesperson and that's the one the consumer has to work with. But I guess that's just me. Then again, it was quite obvious what it will be... at least for people that play games since about 20-30 years.
Fact is, "hype" marketing is cancerous... ontop of all the paid promos on the social media outlets... you can't trust anyone anymore and it gets harder and harder for us to not buy a sack full of shit in disguise (sack full of shit = not the product you thought you'd be buying).
Ironically, I would probably have liked the game if it was marketed as what it is: An ambitious indie game with a tiny team trying to push the envelope a little.
Then no one would have expected much at all - and they might have been pleasantly surprised.
But that's not what happened, and they just had to push it - trying to milk it way, WAY beyond their capabilities.
Obviously, they're going to earn a shit-ton of cash on hype alone.
Is it really so bad that people are pointing out that it's a shallow game with limited unique content? I'm pretty sure the developers are having fun with their undeserved fortune even as we speak.
