I just switched back to my ISPs DNS servers to test as I have had some trouble loading shit lately and boy what an improvement.

It used to be the other way around, the Google DNS servers were way faster at some point. Anyone else experience slowdowns with Googles DNS lately?

Used to have GoogleDNS as my Primary/Secondary DNS on my Router but then long ago started using Steve Gibson's DNS BENCHMARK to track the fastest ones in my region and never looked back. Smile Of course, you have to check to see if that DNS server you are using (ie. OpenDNS) actually "filters out" illegal sites so check some dubious locations first to see they are NOT on the block lists. You can find some real fast DNS servers out there that are not Google.

Yup, seems my ISP ones are currently the fastest. Pretty handy tool indeed Smile
Although it might show them working now but sometimes it just took ages to load, or some images failed to load completely with the Google DNS.

Of course it is faster because Google's DNS is not located in Finland.

But they were very unreliable last I used them, had almost a day of outage at one point.

No issues with my ISP. Try this if it still works: http://www.trex.fi/2011/dns64.html
