Jesus christ, they started the marketing campaign waaaaaaaaaaaay to early. I feel like we've been bombarded with videos and coverage for months and it isn't even out till october.

Sadly this game will probably end up like No Mans Cry.

Not like GTA V was the first game that did it or will be the last to have torturing in a game.

I kind of expect something like that in a mafia game.

Godfather games had those threatening/beating mechanics when collecting protection money, the games weren't very good, but they had elements I still havent's seen in any new games of ghe genre sadly.

Spycraft: The Great Game had an interactive FMV torture scene in which you shock the shit out of a woman, possibly killing her, in order for her to give up her lover. Not quite up to the interactivity of GTA V's scene, but still pretty fucked up.

Here it is (NSFW) -

Great adventure game btw if you've never played.

i should have been more precise and asked for non crap games which were a success Razz played the godfather games, sadly they were crap. and i think i remember spycraft, played a lot of shitty fmv games in the 90s (thb i think there wasnt even a good one Very Happy though nowadays it was huge fun to replay gabriel knight 2 for example, just for the lulz)

You were already trying to skew your statement with suddenly specifying: 'interactive' and that wasn't even enough... so nice try bubba. Laughing

ok then i ask for:

comparable torture scenes (not necessarily interactive) in any non shitty game in the past 25 years Razz

im not aware of any. thats why it was different when it appeared in gta. sure you got similar stuff in a few games, but without explicit viewing of it (not even speaking of choosing what to do).

and that scene from the trailer looked like a copynpasta of the gta scene to generate buzz (like gta accidently did, rockstar sure hasnt counted on that cause they simply dont need the press bitching about it and generating more sales due to that)

Didn't some CoD or Splinter Cell had a torture scene, which got removed for a few countries?

Conviction had violent interrogations, but nothing bad like this. The worst one was sticking a knife through a guy's hand:

and CoD also had one:

While not directly a torture scene, the Stroggification in Quake 4 was cool too. Very Happy
