WGN America enters the world of the most notorious witch trials in history with its first original scripted series “Salem,” which filmed this year in Shreveport, La.
On an expansive set reflecting volatile 17th century Massachusetts, “Salem” explores what really fueled the town’s infamous witch trials and dares to uncover the dark, supernatural truth behind them.
EW shared the first ever official screens from the new series, created, executive-produced and written by award-winning writer/producer Brannon Braga (“24,” “Star Trek: The Next Generation, Voyager and Enterprise”) and Adam Simon (“The Haunting in Connecticut”).
“Salem” launches WGN America’s strategy to become a dedicated purveyor of innovative scripted fare.
“Salem” stars Janet Montgomery (“Human Target,” “Made in Jersey”) as the ruthless but vulnerable Mary Sibley, Salem’s most powerful enchantress – and Alden’s onetime love interest; Shane West (“Nikita,” “ER”) as handsome, hardened war veteran John Alden; Seth Gabel (“Fringe”) as local aristocrat Cotton Mather who fans the flames of Salem’s witch hunt; Ashley Madekwe (“Revenge”) as Mary’s mysterious, carnal accomplice; Xander Berkeley (“Nikita,” “The Mentalist”) as chief politician Magistrate Hale; Tamzin Merchant (“Jane Eyre”) as the forthright Anne Hale, an artist with a perilous attraction to Alden; and Elise Eberle (“The Astronaut Farmer”) as the mysteriously afflicted Mercy Lewis.
In “Salem,” witches are real, but they are not who or what they seem. The show, which centers on an epic romance wrapped around this explosive revelation, delivers a bold new vision of Salem – and an even bolder new vision of witches.
I was even considering adding this to sickbeard until I got to that, but that pushed it from "meh, who knows maybe" to "RUN AWAY RUN FORRRRRRESAT RUN RUN RUN AWAY"
Will await the reviews when it airs and see what it looks like then

I saw things like that in here and in other "woman problems" topics so...... Am I the only one that thinks some authorities needs to be alerted about Saner and him possibly being a rapist and/or kidnapper ?
Saner is not being serious. Unless its the subject of Santa!
Sleepy Hollow was alright, sure it was brainless but it was (surprisingly) fun enough.

I didn't like sleepy hollow at all and I liked this one especially the setting.
But of course it is pure fantasy ) so don't expect a lesson in history and it;s a bit ridiculous haha
I don't need spineless softcore in shows where they don't even dare to show tits. The quantity and the style of the scenes in the episode made me feel like they kind of wanted to.
wow how did I miss this one, loved both seasons and it's renewed for season 3!
For those who enjoy shows like Supernatural this is a treat, and they even managed not to fuck it up with the romance part.
I have to say I like the setting but imho writing is really bad..there are so many inconsistencies in regard to character behavior and what they do it's just..oh well..
Maybe I'll give the second season a chance and continue watching it one day
PS I've just finished binge-watching the second season and it actually wasn't that bad. The writing is still pretty mediocre but nonetheless it was more or less entertaining
PS
Spoiler:
Making this boy play Satan was a mistake. it was so cringeworthy
Signature/Avatar nuking: none (can be changed in your profile)
