On the heels of $46 million opening, studio eyes franchise plans
Who’s Sony gonna call … again? “Ghostbusters!”
Plans for a sequel to Paul Feig‘s female-led reboot starring Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones, Kristen Wiig and Kate McKinnon are all but official, TheWrap has learned.
“The ‘Ghostbusters’ world is alive and well,” said Rory Bruer, president of worldwide distribution at the studio. “I expect ‘Ghostbusters’ to become an important brand and franchise,” he told TheWrap on Sunday.
“While nothing has been officially announced yet, there’s no doubt in my mind it will happen,” he added.
Whether that would mean Feig and all four leading ladies return to the series is not yet clear — though there’s no indication it wouldn’t.
Did they make action figures of the new female ghostbusters? Because I was out shopping for a gift for my nephew when I noticed that the store had a ton of the original ghost busters toys for sale. And these weren't old stock but new. Couldn't find female ones though.

They did, and they were already on clearance before the movie was even released:

Analysts say the break even point is at $375-400M. Sony claims though that in reality it's up to $100M lower than that, at $300M "only".
TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."
"...like nothing else on television."
"a phenomenon."
"A tangled tale of sex, violence, power, junk food..."
"Like Nothing On Earth"
Oh Sony, you little cancer, Lord of Lies. I don't remember the rates but with distributor and cinema fees it would probably had to earn 3x its and marketing budget to break even.
Also this week Star Trek and Ice Age premiers so good luck with that
Just watched it on Kodi (crap cam version)
Well cant say I watched it, I watched, skimmed 10 minutes, watched, skimmed 10. I couldnt handle some of it.
Rating: WTF?!/10.
or maybe:
Sex in the city fights ghosts/10. Because thats what it reminds me of, a 2 hour Sex in the city movie where they fight ghosts.
Horrible movie, horrible cast, horrible jokes, horrible character chemistry.
I personally think casting McCarthy and Jones, was as bad as if they made a male reboot and cast Chris Farley and Katt Williams as those 2 parts. Overly painful stereotypical caricatures of characters..not actual characters.
The amount of undertone of "Women rule, men drool" is just overwhelming. Not one male character in it isnt either a bumbling idiot the girls 'prove smarter than' or a stuckup asshole they 'stick it to' in the end. Now granted the original movie had the antagonist EPA guy. But he was an asshole because he was an asshole, not an asshole because he was male..big difference.

One of the worst high budget movies I've seen in years... the cameos were just shameful too... (especially the ozzy one was random and cringe as fuck.. not in a good "ozzy" way though)
Also, the whole time this movie felt... disconnected? Like someone shredded film and duct taped it together...
The jokes.. I can't even call them that... just
I must be a white privileged misogynistic super racist.. because I literally hated this pile of crap. I feel like the movie raped my intelligence so hard... I was unable to use my whistle.

Well it took 8 years but Indiana Jones 4 has finally been toppled as worst / most sacrilegious film in cinema history. I'm struggling to think how this film could possibly be beaten in future, reboot the godfather? or maybe back to the future?
