edit: no workety, game boots but still that color flickering hijacking the menu =(
You can try mine if you're still looking for a working preset, the original FX's didn't work either for me, but this magically did the trick. http://www.mediafire.com/download/p6vymin3l2l93ka/Metro+2033+ReduxFX.rar
(The screenshot function doesn't work for some reason, but I can live with that)

thanks man, this one works! do you happen to know the key for on/off? i tried adding it to the settings file but cant seem to get it working.
What those "Redux" versions about (Steam)?
Is "redux" just another name for "all DLC included" or what is it / differences?
Metro 2033 Redux is basically Metro 2033 remade into the Metro Last Light engine. Dunno what the thing is with Metro Last Light Redux, apart from a 64bit OS exclusivity since the game came out last year.

That's the downside unfortunately, commands don't seem to be working in this "alternative" version (and altering parameters manually doesn't seem to have an impact on it). It's very strange to be honest
Another small patch was released, this one just updated PhysX3Gpu_x64.dll (For both games.) so for those using Advanced PhysX I guess they either fixed the GPU usage or improved the effects.

Significantly updating the 4A Engine, adding (amongst many other features) Global Illumination and terrain tessellation, as well numerous performance enhancements
Upgrading Metro: Last Light to run in this engine, while adding some minor features such as Check Watch and Check Inventory, and some significant ones such as the new 'Survival' play style
Completely re-building Metro 2033 to run in the new 4A engine, with the new and improved Last Light gameplay framework; and adding new content and assets
For sure, Metro 2033 Redux is a far more significant upgrade over the original than Metro: Last Light Redux (and we're not trying to pretend otherwise).
We think the 50% discount is more than fair for the amount of work that has gone into this title. It is a complete remake of the original game in the latest engine, that will offer a significantly different experience from the original throughout with improved graphics, performance and gameplay.
Metro: Last Light Redux, we will readily admit, does not represent as significant a change over the original.

So... I already know that 2033 redux is much better but If i will see Original Last Light for 5bucks on sale, it's ok to get ir or redux obligeterated other versions ?
is at least performance better?
last light performed prety nice already last year when I've finished it

As far as I could read in the various benchmarks (and see for myself on my not-so-sexy PC), the difference in terms of performance between the original LL and Redux is actually quite minimal. Redux is basically Last Light Complete 1.1.
If you don't own any of the versions, I'd still wait for the Redux to embrace the Gabensales, should be a matter of a few months.
Yup . There's also the new Survival mode along with the usual Ranger/Hardcore, which basically means less ammo overall (even though I have to admit, it's pretty hard to run out of ammo as long as you explore the levels ).
Less ammo and filters (And other supplies?) enemies (especially mutants.) are more resilient and faster (Ranger mode still makes it so a few shots kill but that also goes for the player.) and I believe the AI overall is a bit more quick to react though the stealth sections are still easier than Metro 2033 should you wish to attempt it.
(Knocking people out instead of killing them or avoiding them altogether, good for karma though I don't think anyone really knows how exactly that system works.)
I've just finished playing both 2033 and Last Light redux back to back and I have to say I thought both games were brilliant. I've not enjoyed an FPS as much for ages!
No point to make new thread since game is cancelled, but this is curious:
Quote:
This video shows off an unannounced, unreleased game labeled "Deep 6" thought to be an underwater shooter in development at Metro developer 4A Games before being cancelled by THQ. Hard to figure how this turned up, the description from uploader BananaSwag reads" "Weird demo I found on my hard drive." VG247 has contacted former THQ executive Danny Bilson with questions about this which are so far unanswered.

What in the fuck! X-axis mouse sensitivity is different than Y-axis in this game. And the wider the resolution (as in 3-way displays) or even a tweaked 100 FOV for a normal 1080p, the more it is noticeable...
