i had bsod and display driver stopped responding and has recovered with 970 for about 2 month before they fixed it, that and chrome related isues, that was around when GTA5 was released
THIS is is the reason I (and possibly many others) bought a 970 instead of a 390. AMD's drivers for non-flagship cards sucked hard.
That looks really bad. I never encountered the issue myself, despite using the 7950 until july 2015.
I can understand it made you mad, I would have been aswell. But there will always be issues with both vendors and people switch from one to the other hoping it will be better when new issues arise.

IMO that "indie" game is a terrible example, absolute shit port even after all the patches. Witnessed some texture bugs in there too (who hasn't?) both with a 6850 and a 560ti, although not as severe as those.
Still, not the game I'd chose to make a case for graphical bugs introduced by your GPU's driver.

We really need to kill the myth that either Nvidia or AMD has solid drivers. AMD has a history of taking time with some of their bugs or features, and Nvidia, despite a LOT of defending, has a history of killing cards and ignoring some bugs themselves.
I also remember the absolute disasters that were drivers 320.18 (now THAT one was killing cards as fuck) and the much older 196.75, which disable fans and allowed the cards to fry themselves.
Pascal has its own set of small drivers issues, but those were the big drivers problems. Honestly, we always need to be careful with both companies. Drivers can ruin our days FAST.
i couldn't even start crew with latest nV drivers, it was ctd until i rolled back to previous one
so far with 290 and latest driver everything runs pretty smooth

Good luck with that, world peace will be achieved before people admit that there are/were/will be stupid issues on both camps from time to time

There's such a wide variety of gamer profiles, that's impossible to designate a unifying statement: this brandname has better drivers.
if someone plays 5 triple A games per year, and those games end up being well supported by their brand, who can tell that guy that he is wrong in saying that brand has great drivers?
Same goes for a guy who plays 50 or so games a year that includes games from many different API's, different development budget brackets, game engines, etc. He could claim the other brand covers that broad spectrum much better and still be correct just like the first guy.
too bad to the average marlon brandoboy those two statements are exclusive.

I've said it quite a few times: Been running two systems next to each other and quite the same games being played on. One being the green pear and the other the red tomato.
Most of the times the red tomato needs some more time in the sun to fix the problems is my take on it. Both have problems now and then just that it happens a lot more to the system next to me than on my 3/4 greenish pear.
Which isn't that odd seeing how most developers favour Nvidia. Still think AMD made quite a step forward from my olden days with them though. Compared to that they are faster and less prone to bug out.
Whatever fruit you like, both can give you the runs.
Eliza plz, no need to constantly shit up a place especially so when going that much out of your way to do so. Or do we need yet another Pax from 'den Aldi'?

In this way we have managed to increase frequencies on +180 MHz reached the 2,177 MHz for the core of the GPU, a 18.6% premium compared to 1835 MHz factory and 8,606 MHz memories, 5% compared to 8208 MHz. we are talking about a really impressive overclocking the core, improving by about 100 MHz the values obtained by MSI and Gigabyte models we have analyzed.
