The four-hour limit is based on total playtime. So you can download anytime and play for 4 hours.
Preload, I doubt it. Goes live at 11 am PT.
The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.
Unravel and Need for Speed enter the EA Access Vault next week; Battlefield 1 trial coming in Oct.

Electronic Arts has announced it’s making some big additions to EA Access this Summer, which includes Need for Speed, Unravel, and Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2.
Xbox One owners will be able to play both Need for Speed and Unravel starting on July 12 via the EA Access Vault. Hopefully those two inclusions will last you for the majority of your Summer as the next game being added to the Vault is EA Sports Madden 17 Play First Trial on August 18, then Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2 on August 30.
Hockey and soccer fans will want to keep an eye on the Vault in September as Play First Trial versions of NHL 17 and FIFA 17 will be available on September 8 and September 22, respectively.
Lastly, EA will release the Battlefield 1 Play First Trials on both Xbox One and PC on October 13, which will give players a chance to play the upcoming shooter prior to its worldwide release on October 21.
mh maybe worth for one month to finish nfs (if the 10 hours arent enough for "story" mode and i stand the bullshit language all the time...) and play through unravel.
but bobson: ea access != origin access. so that doesnt apply to pc version maybe, and ofc not for nhl17 cause its derpsole only.
maybe i buy it for a month in september to get early access to fifa too (iiiiif that applies to origin access as well)

unravel is just first level, you gonna play first level for 10 hours?
Unravel and Need for Speed deluxe added to EA vault.
That was quick.
Next stop: Mirror's Edge.

Soon you won't be able to buy games, only rent them via Vault. Welcome to the future.
For EA, I think this is probably the best option. Paying full price for games like Mirror's Edge Catalyst and Need for Speed is insane. 4$ is a steal deal for playing all these vault games for a month.
10 more titles headed to EA Origin Access this summer
Quote:
This week, EA has added cutesy platformer Unravel and so-so racer Need for Speed to both EA Access on Xbox One and Origin Access on PC.
Later this summer, Origin Access will expand further with another 10 titles, EA has now added.
Crysis, Crysis 2 and Crysis 3 headline the list of forthcoming additions, which will be added to the Origin Access vault "soon".
Alongside them will be tip top tower defence game Plants vs. Zombies, classic BioWare role-player Jade Empire, SimCity 2000 (not the bad one) and indie tube map puzzler Mini Metro.
Origin Access now has pretty much the full back catalogue of recent EA releases, including all your Mass Effects, Dragon Ages and Dead Spaces, plus Battlefield 3, 4, and Hardline. It costs £4 for a month's subscription, and also gives you early access to new games as they release.
Not too shabby I guess. I had SOE pass once and they had less games for 15$ a month. I considered it as a good deal since most MMO's were around 15$ a month at that time.
Not that I see anything I'd want to play atm. I have most of those games.
There's the ten-hour trials for new games too, often ahead of release although that might mean you miss out on some last-day patch fixes.
Battlefield (ww)1 should be next in that trial program I believe and there's the older games too such as Need for Speed 2016 and Mirrors Edge Catalyst though some games depending on length might also have locked content as you'd otherwise probably be able to complete the game with the default 10 hour time limit.
EDIT: Also someone said that the first time you use the service if you cancel on the same day you get refunded and you do get to keep the access until the end of the month.
(But I don't know if that's still so although you do get to keep the EA Access status until it expires.)
You also get the ability to upgrade games to their full, content-complete versions although you do lose said content after the subscription expires unless you buy it back.
(IE you can get all the expansions for Battlefield 4 and Hardline though won't be able to access those extra packs without either owning them or re-subscribing to EA Access once expired.)
EDIT: Oh right it'll also auto-refresh the subscription at the end of each month until you cancel the subscription, it's only some 5$ USD or so but still something to keep in mind.
