Sweden is the leading scandinavian nation, PERIOD!
No other scandinavian country comes close in achievements. Im not talking about politics or taxes or unemployement. Im talking about achievments!
I'm sorry if this offends some danes or norwegians but its the truth, without any doubt whatsoever!
And btw, the reason salarys are higher in some plces in the world is because the cost of living is also higher! The apartement me and the gf rented in boston cost 2500 USD a month for a one bedroom apartement. Do you know what kind of living you get for that kind of money in sweden?
So please just stop your commie bs for once and take a setp back and look at how other parts of the world go about their day!

Well thats good then since im swedish, and if im not mistaken our vikings kind of ruled parts of your island for a couple of hundred years or so;-) And i aim fairly good to if i might say so, i never miss to loath countrys with inferior standards.

You have to compare percentages, not sheer numbers. With my education, I would get a job that would give me about 75% of my money to spend after I paid my bills, living in a similar town, in a similar apartment, in the U.K. In Sweden, first of all - I would have to move to a different town (because unemployment is so bad here, and the jobs are so spread out (small population = less consumers = less oppurtunities for companies). Also, in that town (there are only three, really, to speak of), Malmö, Stockholm and Gothenburg. I would have to spend more on the apartment, but I would also have a worse location, and I would have about 30-40% of my salary after I paid my bills.
In this country, it doesn't pay to employ people. It's too expensive to employ, and therefore many (most) companies outsource, or worse - just sell their businesses, or move them to other countries.
In the late 70's and 80's, I would've agreed with you. Now, we've sold/limited our previously most profitable industries.
