Quote:

Scalebound, the much-hyped Platinum-developed action game that was previously scheduled for Xbox One and PC, is in trouble and may be cancelled, according to several sources.

We expect the official announcement shortly. When reached by Kotaku today, Microsoft sent over a brief statement: “We’ll have more to share on ‘Scalebound’ soon.”

From what we hear, Scalebound, an ambitious game directed by iconic Twitter blocker and Bayonetta director Hideki Kamiya, had been in development hell for a long time. Microsoft first announced the game nearly three years ago, during the Xbox press conference at E3 2014. It rose to the top of dozens of “Most Anticipated Games” lists but was delayed several times.

We hadn’t heard or seen anything of Scalebound in recent months, and it was curiously missing from an Xbox Wire post last week that talked about the future of Xbox One. Microsoft has also removed the official Scalebound page from the Xbox website.

Scalebound was cancelled. I also heard that Kamiya is taking time off due to mental health issues. It's really sad.

See? Even they know it's crap and it needs to be canned or rework completely. I don't know why anyone thought that E3 showcase was any good.

looked kinda generic anyway, from the e3 gameplay clip i saw on ign. no idea why anyone would lament the loss of another average game.. I can see why MS canned it.

And of course, the NeoFAGGOTS made a thread about it that has over 6,000 posts. They're having a meltdown. Laughing

It's a SJW cesspool masquerading a gaming forum. I go there to have a laugh at the sheltered snowflakes.

Trying to read a NeoFAGGOTS thread is like trying to keep up with Twitch comments anyway, why do people even bother over there. It's the quickest way to have any opinion drowned out by a dozen other people within seconds. And if your opinion is noticed, it generally gets you banned for any one of a million ridiculous reasons.

I read the screenshots thread primarily, occasionally I check up on GeDoSaTo too but it's pretty much inactive.

Every now and again I do check the main gaming forum there to see if anything has happened, usually don't read most of the subsequent replies after the initial post though.
(They're pretty quick with updates at least even if I'm no fan of the community itself.)

Microsoft is removing Scalebound videos from its YouTube channel
Quote:
Microsoft has removed all trailers of Scalebound from its Xbox YouTube page following news of the game's cancellation earlier in the evening.

Twitter posts from the official Scalebound account and Xbox Live head honcho Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb link to Scalebound trailers that are marked as either removed or made private.

Cancelling a highly promoted AAA game after four years of work is an already unprecedented move, but removing footage of its existence is especially odd. Perhaps it's a licensing issue? We've asked Microsoft for comment.

Hehe, I was wondering if they were the ones removing it.
Sad state when you think it's possible and even sadder that it turns out to be true.

I think cancelling is a good decision though, it just looked bland in the end, they didn't seem to get anywhere with time. Decent idea lost in a boardroom probably.

Why wouldn't they remove the videos from their YT account? What's the point of showcasing trailers for a game that will never come.
