ok, so waiting for the prices of custom cards and for the 480 to rsl to see if it's rly worth to buy a 1070 for 1080p gaming... so no witcherina for a month still
Im doing the same, as much as the 1070 is a beast card, it seems overpriced day by day seeing these new cards..if its around 400€ i might consider it, if it goes to 500 on my country, ill just get amd and be done with it.
You can buy NZXT kraken AIO and NZXT kraken bracket to watercool GPU the easy way. Another option is to buy Accelero Xtreme III / IV air cooler, very good one. Alternatively if you have cash, there is EK Predator 360 AIO unit, you can buy EK waterblock with QDC connectors to your GPU and then cool both CPU and GPU (both are prefilled), fantastic cooling performance, my 5820K + 980Ti stays little over 50C in heavy load.
But why? I'm in the middle of a monstrous waste of money / new PC and given how poor the 1080 overclocks I'm feeling my custom waterloop would be wasted on this card. I can't make up my mind what to do, less performance with more hardware fun or good performance with no fun.

would need another 100 euro then before i'd have enough for a 1070 and i'd be on intel graphics until I saved up the monies from my gilf gigolo business
I think I'd go the 2 x RX480 route. If cash-strapped, buy one, then add another one and the CF-RX480'ies are basically comparable to a 1080 but for $200+ less with lower heat output, lower power usage etc.
I'd personally never ever consider a dual GPU an alternative to a single GPU. when it works it's gonna be great sure, but be ready for 3-4 month late profiles, and support for the tiniest sample of triple A games.
everything else, you will either get negative scaling, bugs, or no crossfire profile.
I also doubt that 2 gpu's will have lower heat output and power usage than 1.

Finding an empty bottle in croatia? good luck with that. it's the currency for 30% of the population. you cannot even find one in a recycle bin for bottles because the poor people go around the city all day long emptying every single trash/recycle bin.
I can poke my head outside the window and the chance of seeing someone digging through the trash is 50%.

I remember reading about problems with SLI/Crossfire pretty much when they were introduced several years ago.
And it still did not get really better. That's the reason i prefer one powerful card instead.
Let's see how the 480x will perform.

Tried it for one evening, when complete called the boss and said fuck it. I even had a route that could be done from a car, still a pain in the ass as you have to manually sort all the stuff yourself that takes hours and hours...
