Jay Wilson is finally leaving Blizzard.

But he did manage to accomplish something incredible.

He killed Diablo franchise.

Maybe with D4, they can go back to its true roots.

yeah... right... millions... playing... this dead game in battle.net launcher at most. I've been playing this game with a guild from WoW. All of us invested 800-1000 hours into this abysmal product. So i can say firmly we tried to love it HARD, but we are not playing it for a year or so. While we are not millions, but i'm pretty sure D3 died long time ago. And whoever is playing this yet either are blizzard fanboys to death or have a virus called battle.net and can't get rid of it for some insane reason Smile

Dude, what the hell. You spent a thousand hours in a game that you don't even like?

Anyway, i still play every season for a few days, suffices to say i've got my money's worth, and while i dislike wow, hearthstone and overwatch, i still think blizz at least knows how to support their games for years on end

I wish I hated a game so much that I spent 1000 hours in it.
A bit less than a year ago, Diablo 3 reached 30m copies sold. Making it the 10th best-selling game of all time. The expansion on its own sold almost 3m copies in its first week.

So yeah, that game is dead man. RIP Diablo franchise. The next one is probably only gonna sell 10m copies and we'll play it for a meager 200 hours.

The rush from those hundreds of dollar flips .. ah.. good thing i dont live in vegas, i'd prolly be broke by now and with huge debts.

Inb4 game is much better now. Oh yeah, clearly, crazy paragon lvls shitting on gear itself, same with gems, no way to catchup to nolifers on the ladders anymore cuz stats stats and more stats (and no seasons dont count), botters and my personal favorite, the competition. The competition with hacks (aka maphacks and whatnot) and Blizz doing fuckall about it. Did i forget to mention how solo players (the ones that didn't want to get carried by 4mans and get way higher gems / paragonlvls / gear ) are at such a huge disadvantage when competing on their own actual ladders (you know, solo not ppl geared from 4p ladders "competing" with soloers).

Diablo 3 is still better than all the alternatives, except possibly Path of Exile.

But people like to bitch and moan about D3 - even as they don't play any of the other supposedly better games anymore. Strange how that works Smile

Personal preference for me, Diablo 3 has no where near the depth of any of the alternatives. They wanted to clone poe's skill system in dev but couldnt make it work so juat gave you all skills for nothing instead.

Some think its more 'atmospheric' because they spent more money and time perfecting graphics and animations, Poe'artstyle is much more appealing to me, and it has much better randomization. Fanboys think sinking 3000's hours on paragon levels negates the 1 stat, have all skills no choices gameplay.

Still im glad theres a popular game for gamers that are into that, less chance of features/fun being removed from POE or its sequels.

I mean if Rifts can infinitely scale, I don't see why Torment can't. Power creep is a reality that cannot be avoided at this point, might as well make every mode infinitely scaled.
