Really? Laughing

I did, but I think you're misunderstanding my analogy. (understandably)

My point isn't that downloading software is as bad as stealing a car, it's that if your moral stance is "I disagree with this company's practices/the way they treat their customers." It doesn't make sense that you then go ahead and use their products just because you didn't spend money on it. And if you apply that logic to any other sector. (I used automobiles) it makes even less sense. The reality is if you hate intrusive DRM, boycott those products COMPLETELY. Don't download it when/if it's cracked.

When companies see that a torrent of their game on a public tracker has been hit 400k times, that doesn't suggest there are many customers who disagree with their methods of protection, that suggests that they could be made paying customers with a better, possible worse/more intrusive form.

Is that wrong? Somewhat. We'll never know what percentage of pirates go legit if a game is uncracked for say, more than 24 hours. But I'd argue just about everyone who pirates because they don't WANT to pay vs literally not having the discretionary income bought Doom or Total War: Warhammer. (Assuming they're interested in the genre.)

In summation, the people claiming they pirate games with intrusive (and again no one has made an actual case for Denuvo even being intrusive. Shitposts on reddit about SSD usage and a couple of benchmarkers running into activation limits because they switched out hardware so often so quickly don't count.) DRM are actually 50% responsible for the problem they claim they want addressed existing in the first place.

I used the car analogy because if I talked a bunch of shit about VW and then you saw me get into one and pointed out the contradiction, would you be satisfied I wasn't a huge bullshitter if I said, "But bro, I stole this car. Not supporting our corporate overlords!"

No, you'd think I was a retarded hypocrite.

EDIT: I saw ixi's posts so I'll shut up now.

@DraySpittle not everyone is devoid of principles, I've flat boycott lots of companies, publishers and studios for treating me poorly as their customer. I will not ever buy, pirate or play anything from, EA, ubisoft, activision, gearbox, blizzard > i dont care how good it is hyped to be (fortunately these companies havnt produced something im interested in for a long time)

If other people voted with theit wallet gaming wouldnt suck as much as it does today, unfortunatly millions bought simcity, alien, dlc etc.

Russian keys are just as bad as well, its still a copy sold.

The game was updated, no patch notes it seems.

EDIT: Just adds logging functionality to the game.

A few posts before yours.

But I guess the noise generated by all the denuvo/piracy OT discussion makes it hard to be aware

Its pretty generic tbh. Found myself playing some other metal music halfway through the game. For some reason track called bfg division played in 90% of those arena fights and Im seriously fed up with this, specially that guitar is rythm based (instead of actual riff/melody based old tracks), its like djent with some random synths, and I dont like djent, its the cancer of modern metal music Razz

Old doom had its "main theme" that classic e1m1 riff which is unforgetable. Funny that dude had a perfect riff, played it lower (which still sounded great) and instead of just making it sound lower/more hardcore + spicing it up with some electronic he completely meseed the riff, slowing the tempo by 200% and made in unrecogniable mess of loops and random distorted electornics.

There are some nice moments in the whole OST but generally its random mash up of stuff that fear factory, static x or other bands recorded 10+ years ago.

The spectrogram is really cool!

Im not sure I noticed the music much, though I dont particularly like super distorted electronic music. The fucking sound effects annoyed me heavily though. Demons screaming in my face all the time, just because they exist somewhere. And corpses loudly disappearing (srsly wtf). Transmissions from computer screens on a loop audible in a completely different room with huge volume hotspots in certain positions. In the end, all acoustical energy entering my ears seemed like ambient noise loosely related to game events ... meh

And hell seemed fucking bland to me. Like the rest of the game with a different skin really.

Can't say much of the gamplay, because I ended up playing on easy, and rushed through the game trying to overclock my gpu Laughing

@ sabin
You said your frame rate dropped at some point. Was is that small laboratory room? Because that was pretty much the only scene that dropped slightly below 60 for me (otherwise 70-120fps with my R9 390). And it was only that one room I think.

Its the level before the final one. Vega central processing or what its called. Its mainly interior, but the level starts with a quick outdoor section where the environment is covered in snow.

Of course i stormed through the game, as it's a face paced shooter. Cool Face
It still took me 17h though.

But i still can't remember the snowy location, even after Karmecks screenshot or what Ampee wrote.

I was hesitated to post it.. but it seems it's some progress worth to mention.. mods decide what you want to do with that post....

MKDEV manage to load the game window, and even posted the "partial crack" on his site for further testing,it seems he is getting there.. I will post if more progress will be posted, not daily update
